Could someone explain the reason why the Secretary of State, a department that doesn’t work domestic issues, shopping for shoes in her off time is an issue?

Man, let’s go after all those congressmen in Alaska who might have been in bed with their wives, ’cause you know they are wrong for daring to live a life. Oh yeah and can we make everyone in the country who watched football and ordered pizza this week, or grilled out on the holiday go directly to hell for daring to enjoy themselves while we have soldiers in a war?

According to Mrs. Marcos’ s Attorney, Gerry Spence, the Phillippine Islands host a number of shoe manufacturers. As a sign of respect, each manufacturer regularly sent Mrs. Marcos a complimentary pair of each type of shoe that they made. Spence says that the shoe story was pure prosecutorial spin.

I agree with you 100% although I don’t understand it.

If, say, Clinton were still in charge, does anyone think Republicans would hesitate one second to blame him?

Please explain to this canadian why it is patriotic and healthy for democracy to criticise a Dem President but it is unpatriotic to criticise a GOP one??

Speaking of shopping for shoes during the tragedy, is there anyone left that hasn’t seen the video of two police officers busted while looting shoes at a Wal-Mart? Then the one officer tries to play it off like she’s there to stop looters. People really show their true colors during times like these.

Condi is not responsible for internal matters. She’s the Secretary of State! It is doubtful that she even has any tools to try to help. Let’s keep ourself practical rather than dramatical.

Don’t put that past democrats. They often go on criticizing, not that it wouldn’t be justified in this case, but that seems to be the theme of their party and people get sick of negatives. Republicans in power can just go on like nothing is wrong and people like that better. Unfortunently.

The Democrats will not jump on this directly. It will look like partisan bashing. It looks like the administration is full self destruction mode and doing fine themselves. A weak President makes things very dangerous abroad and domestically, especially with as many enemies as this one has made. Expect all the usual suspects to begin testing the water for blood in the next few weeks. These idiots were so scared of the bogey man they ran head first into a hurricane.
