    The sad thing is that I’ve gigged with the exact same keyboard and amp….in high school. With saxophone freaks. But that was 4 years ago. Oh well. Damn hippies.

    You guys get all bent out of shape about a girl wearing a short skirt, but kids on the street trying to beat out a buck or two and you don’t get it.

    What do they need the donations for, new clothes, a place to live, food what.

    It is Berkley after all. They already have new clothes, a place to live, food, a trip to Europe, a new keyboard, an ipod, Katrina relief, miniskirt free-expression drive. The City/State provides, “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs”.

    I hate it when young kids ask for spare change, but these kids are performing a service by “entertaining” and (presumably) not approaching people for money. I don’t have a problem with it; I think it shows some initiative on their part.

    Begging has been legitimized in NYC. All franchises like Starbuck’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, etc., have a tip jar at the register. Apparently, their store salaries are not making ends meet. I usually tip a dollar or so.

    Btw, Barcelona has the best buskers.

    It’s different from selling lemonaid in that these kids need talent to do what they are doing. So, things are looking good for the future… of berkeley.
