Ya, it's ugly. But what the heck. I keep my 'puter under my desk anyway. I'm more impressed with the content then what's on the outside.

Tell that to every mac head who jumps on every new "improvement" on a PC and brags that his machine can outperform a PC equipped with windoze.

Bizarrely the first thing that popped into my head was that this was lifted off the batmobile! But then I remembered that it only had a single exhaust and that was circular, maybe it's the brake light cluster.

@ 10. just get a life. People who use macs know they perform better in certain tasks than windows (or linux) does. You're waiting for a mac fanboy to come and say how much better a G5 is? wait a while longer.... no a LOT longer..... aint gonna happen. We are talking about hardware not software here, and the hardware in this machine, though lacking in certain ways (check my previous post), has very decent gaming capabilities. A G5 could not match it. However if this system was migrated to OSX and it was a heads up against OS X then it would be a different story.... and you know what the outcome would be.

sorry but "modern"? dude, this thing looks medievel! i laughed when i saw the piccy, because i thought it was a fake! it's horrible. no two ways about it. My mum has a dell, it sucks asthetically (and performance wise). dell have NO style, everyone knows this. The best thing they do os make (or rebadge) very good screens. Apart from that the hardware is substandard and below expectations. They are the microsoft of PC hardware manufacture. As someone here said, it will probably come with quad graphics to sell it to people, and then 80gb of hd (10,000rpm to make it look good), a semi decent mobo, maybe for gimmick a physix card.... and 512mb of ram, c**p ram at that. I reckon you need to spend an extra $800 in upgrades just to match the performance of the graphics card etc. Then you have to think about re-installing windows fresh, without all the dell bs thrown in. Oppps, no install cd. Guess I need to actually go and buy XP from a shop then. Another $200. This machine is a joke, if u have cash to burn on a gaming PC get an alienware one. Better off waiting for PS3 though, it will (it appears) raise the bar on PC gaming graphics and AI significantly. But then, we have to wait and see on that one...

Hmm, it looks like an air purifier to me. I bet it sounds like one, too.

As far as I can tell, this new case has better airflow and a couple of lights to let you see what you are doing while in the dark. There is nothing mind blowing here. By contrast, the Apple tower case is designed for style, quiet operation, excellent air flow management, and ease of access to components. The Dell is stylish (in it's own way) but I want to see more of the guts, not just the exterior. Let's hope there is something novel on the inside.

I know Apple has created some great case designs in the past but you were still buying it because it was a Mac. The case design was just a bonus. Will this help Dell sales? I predict a slight up tick but not much. It still comes down to price and performance with any PC box.

While I like the idea of new shapes and colors for standard towers....I'd like to see what the meat is to this machine. Dell is well known for cheap systems which are easily upgradable (for a large pricetag). Their usual "top of the line" gaming system comes with 512MB RAM of substandard grade, while trying to entice you with a big hard drive (like that matters.) Of course, if you request it you can do all kinds of upgrades to that....but you'd have to request it, and it costs more than it would just to build a new system from scratch.
