The title of the post says “Google Maps”, but the article references Google Earth. AFAIK, you cannot choose your imagery with google maps user interface (perhaps you can with their API).

Also, Google purchases their geospacial imagery from commercial and governmental providers, as do Microsoft Live Local, Mapquest, Yahoo and plenty of other companies. So this is not really about Google Earth per se, but remote sensing privacy.

She’s on her back, knees slightly up and closer together than her feet–a very common pose. She’s clad in a bathing suit bottom, wearing a light pinkish gray half T-shirt and she is young, but not Rubenesque.

Had she been face down, the shape of her suit bottom would have been different.

Her left hand is up (she’s left-handed) holding a cell phone and her head is bent forward, so you see her brunette hair nearly in a top view. Her right hand is brushing her cheek.

The image was shot by a high-alititude survey aircraft and integrated into the data with no special treatment.

About the “possible” level of satellite imagery: There are black-ops satellites in the Hubble optic class up there. Now what would you pay?

Does anyone know if Google Earth gets it’s imagery from satellite exclusively or does it include imagery from aircraft as well?

If it receives only satellite imagery that means this is a hoax. It would have to have better than 0.1 m resolution. That’s not currently possible.
