This probably isn’t something a real estate agent is going to divulge upfront. I wonder how many actually check?

Buyer beware of toxic meth-lab homes

Health officials in a handful of states are warning home-buyers and renters to check an online database of busted “meth houses” to make sure they don’t move into a contaminated former drug lab.

Idaho is the latest state to start listing properties where methamphetamine drug labs have been found in an online database for potential buyers and renters. Seven homes have been listed since the database was launched in April, and similar online registries in neighboring Montana, Oregon and Washington list hundreds of homes, motel rooms and even automobiles that have been used to cook methamphetamine in recent years.

“We’re trying to protect families and children by allowing the public to look on our Web site before they rent or buy a house to see if it’s ever been busted as a meth house,” said Kara Stevens, manager of Idaho’s Environmental Health and Injury Prevention Program, which administers the state’s Clandestine Drug Lab Cleanup Program.

A former meth lab?

My house is the latest and greatest in state of the art meth production. We adhere to the most strict safety protocols to reduce risk of fire and death associated with the average meth lab. We also produce meth in a variety of fruit flavors, and are pioneering a chewable meth tablet, to help parents who have trouble getting their kids to take meth.

I just returned from a conference where I attended a presention on Meth. It was very scary. I thought that the readers of this blog might like to know that meth produces 10 times the pleasure neurotransmitter as sex! If someone trys this drug just once there is a very high probabiltiy that they will become addicted.

I think it’s worse if someone’s new house was the scene of a previous horrendous homicide. What if you bought Jeffry Dahmar’s old house without knowing it?

#3: Dahmer’s house was torn down shortly after he was arrested so it wouldn’t become a morbid tourist attraction. I used to live in Milwaukee and drove to work within a block of it every day for years.

The bottom line is stay away from drugs!
Who cares who occupied the house prior as long as it cleaned up and no toxic chemicals are present.

OFTLO, Fruit flavored? Darn, why didn’t see that. Here I’ve been working on Broccoli and Asparagus flavors. Heck, parents have got to get their kids to eat veggies somehow.

I also buy that nice old lady across the road 50 lbs of cat food every week. It helps explain the smell.

Can anyone explain why meth-heads all start looking alike after a year or so?
As for the ex methlab houses…..yeah, should be on a real estate disclaimer….but the places STINK, even after a good cleaning. Smells toxic….can’t get the stench out of the plasterboard or the particle board sub flooring. The more frightening thing are the rentals that aren’t cleaned very well..and rented to an unsuspecting family!

Who in the HELL came up with the recipe for Meth?

I need help!! I’ve suspected my new home to be an old meth lab. I can’t seem to find, how i’m supposed to know, or what I can do about it. I have 3 chidren under the age of 5 and could really use any info so i can know.
