Its simple.. We cant afford it. There are lots of things that would be nice.. Like buying all the homeless a house.. maybe giving a thank you check of $1000 to all the americans who always pay their taxes..

McCain has been a reasonable conservative but lately he as begun pandering to the wacko neo-con wing of the party to get the nomination.

McCain USED to be one of the conservatives that we liberals respected and even liked. Partly we liked him because he would occasionally stand up for principled common sense — like campaign finance reform, treating gays like as Americans or against torture — despite fierce opposition from his own party.

But he’s caved on those positions. We libs also liked him because he’d tell the truth sometimes, like calling Jerry Falwell an “agent of intolerance”. (which, of course, described Falwell perfectly)

But now, to get elected, McCain is giving that big phashist hugs and kisses.

#3…McCain has always been a Conservative. When did he become a fake one?

He has always been a fiscal Conservative, and has always been Pro-life(though he has just recently said that his position has always been to throw out Roe v Wade, which is a Conservative position, since it’s a states right’s issue, not a Federal one)…….the most Liberal thing he is for is Gay Civil Unions, but not Gay Marriage. He’s pro-enviroment, that happens to be a Republican issue dating back to Teddy Roosevelt.

If your a Liberal, he’s not going to be Liberal enough for you, if your a Moderate, he won’t be Moderate enough and if your a Conservative, he’s probably not Conservative enough for you. That makes him just right.

He has, since the invasion of Iraq been a critic of not enough troops to do the job and no plan for after the fighting. He hasn’t changed that position. He understands the importance of leaving Iraq as stable as possible(though I think thats long past now). I happen to not agree with him on the troop increases, I think we should be withdrawing.

But as of now, he is the person most likely to get my support. Hillary is out of the question. Obama isn’t going to be around this time next year, after the media turns on him. The rest of the Republicans are neo-cons, except for Guiliani, but I don’t think he can win the primaries.

McCain is actually WORSE than that… he’s a neocon POSER.

He’s not even a real deal conservative nutcase. He’s just playing one to get elected.
