Most were obviously drunk or hungover. Personally I prefer running through the crowd squirting puke through my fingers.

The first thing they teach you in high school marching band is never to lock your knees. You won't pass out, but you'll go fall forward like a ton of bricks. People that actually pass out fall backwards as their legs collapse.

What is it about weddings? I go to church every week with baptisms, communion and other rituals but this mostly just happens at weddings. The knees are probably it but it also might be the clothing.

I've seen a best man go down and it darn-near happened to me when I was a groomsman.

I remember my vision was going black and thinking, "My... this feels nice... but ... whoa!" and then I shook myself awake.

Most wedding ceremonies are a huge drag for everybody, but standing and trying to look attentive through one? This probably happens less than it should. Of course, there may also be some *night before* partying contributing, which may explain #4's comment.

not to lock you knees when standing for a period of time

Yes, a VERY bad idea to lock your knees.

Also, I wonder about how many of the weddings wound up with the groom (or bride) passing out at a more... um, active.. time later.

From what I have been able to find out about this. It may have something to do with locking you knees straight. Doing a google search on Locking Knees and found alot of military people saying not to lock you knees when standing for a period of time (Guard or Formation). They say something about restricting blood flow.
