It this really works in 90% of elevators and too many people learn about it, this will really disrupt elevator systems. (Yeah, I know, why did I post it. I couldn’t resist. At least this trick will save you when some kid leaps into the elevator, pushes all of the buttons and leaps back out.)

If only one floor is selected just holding the close button often works as well.
He should have pushed a bunch of floor buttons first to prove the hack.
next time I see a long cue waiting for the elevator I will know why, lol
apparently this doesnt work unless the elevator is set to a certain mode
Nah, don’t worry hhopper, this has been around for years.
Post as a follow up the video on some soda-pop vending machines, when left to their default settings, you can have fun with.
As a test of common hack knowledge I will be leaping on to elevators, pressing all the buttons, and leaping off. Wave hello if you see me in an elevator near you!
Discussed at length here; mixed but mostly “doesn’t (usually) work:.

Yeah, I know, why did I post it.
Well… I don’t know if the hack is legit, and I doubt this knowledge will ever be “widespread” but…
The reason you posted it is that you believe, as I do, that a little revolution every day is indeed a good thing.
Never let the machine run perfectly, for authority must always be reminded that their power is on loan. – Me, Just now
I agree with you, iamanassholetoo. Sure, if no other floors have been selected, you’ll go right to the floor you want. And when was this video taken….3:30am, when nobody on any other floor had pushed the call button?
Gonna take more than this “proof” to prove that this hack works. Dude, press all the other buttons, and THEN try your hack. I look forward to the reposted video.
Why bother with this nonsense when you can just buy maintenance keys for each elevator brand online?
The reason you posted it is that you believe, as I do, that a little revolution every day is indeed a good thing
Didn’t Thomas Jefferson suggest a new Revolution every twenty years of so?
J/P=?
Why is there no 13th floor? When the elevator is going back down it jumps from the 14th floor to the 12th..
#10 – Jefferson said something about the how the Tree of Liberty sometimes needed to be fed with the blood of patriots…
I think it was Chaiman Mao who used the phrase “permanent revolution”.
Someone else said the bit about a little revolution every day that I paraphrased… but I don’t recall who it was.
maneatinglemons, the mysterious missing 13th floor is common here in the US. It has something to do with the superstitious number 13 (Friday the 13th etc).
I used to work in a building with two elevators, one serviced floors B -> 12 and the other 14+. Sometimes that makes it less noticeable that 13 is missing. Other places might relabel floor 13 to some other name.
Stupid, ridiculous, ignorant, superstition.
13.)
does that mean that you must walk up from 12 to 14?
I have always wondered why you can’t “unpress” or cancel elevator buttons.
Like when someones little angel mashes their sticky fingers on every button they can reach.
The basic elevator user controls have not changed a bit in my lifetime.
