T_H – pause for a mo and think about it. If Florida were “Bush country” there wouldn’t've been a virtual tie, now would there? Factor out the Cubans (the older generation) who buy into the jingoistic flag-waving of the Repugs, turning their backs on the pro-immigration Dems who got them here, and Florida is clearly a blue state.

I’ve lived most of my life in Florida and Texas. Texas is Bush country. Urban and suburban Florida is not. The Panhandle and the less-populous north are part of the Repug-leaning South, and have more in common with neighboring Georgia and Alabama then they do with central and south Florida, where most of the people are. South Florida is a Democratish extension of the Northeast where so many of it’s residents originated.

And as the older Cuban-born Cubans die out and are replaced by their American-born descendants, Florida gets bluer all the time.

Remember folks.. Your country, the United States (i’m Canadian, so not too far off mind you) was founded by puritans that were too uptight for the English!

I’m surprised there’s not more book/movie burnings going on.. I know there would be if the extremist conservatives were nearly as powerful as they think they are…

A Danish newspaper have a page 9 girl, similar to The Suns page 3 girl. They have had girls as young as 15, of cause the parents have to accept, but the age thing is really only a problem because it’s the US. This would have been much of a story if she was 18, as similar things happens rather frequently.

Bradenton is a pretty low-key place. He’s gonna spend a few weeks in the city jail or the Manatee County lockup, not Attica or Supermax. If sleeping, watching TV and playing cards can kill you, then I guess he might not survive…
