That's why smaller cars are not cheaper correspondingly, there are as many parts in a small car as a big one... They are just smaller...

Do you realize that if you added up the price of those parts individually, you couldn't afford the car?

That is a great photo. Whoever set up the parts did a painstakingly super job. Look at all the parts lined up in a perfectly straight line. It must have been a very tedious process to position all those components.

This is a 1990 Volkswagen Golf, a rather simple car. Imagine a more modern car with airbags everywhere, powered everything, sensors, wiring, etc.!

BTW, how come the door handles are attached?? :)

My next car will be a diesel-generator + 2/4 electric motors for the wheels, with a small battery pack that only has to last 10 miles.
Then a tank will last me at least 3 months, unless I do a road trip.

Meanwhile, I have to live with the very low MPG of my Prius, by comparison to a diesel hybrid. At least it's fun to drive, I get lots of "free" miles gliding (the fun part).

The not-so-fun is the monthly visit at the gas station. The 2009 plug-in option upgrade Toyota will offer us will help though.
