It wasn't really my friend's style of music, seeing as how he'd previously been in a rock and roll band, but I think he just did it on a lark. Anyway, the group entertained us, and everybody loved it. It's been so long that I can't recall exactly why it worked out so well, but I'm sure the sheer novelty of having a barbershop quartet had to be part of the reason, plus we were well soaked in alcohol.
