History creates ‘place of fear’ for some
Mildred Otis won’t caucus for Barack Obama for president largely for one reason: She wants to save his life.Otis, 87, remembers America’s violent civil rights movement 40 years ago when Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated.
And, having lived through those events, the Des Moines woman and others fear that Obama’s nomination could end in tragedy. “I think there’s a lot of people not ready for an African-American to be a president,” said Otis, a black woman.
[...]
“The strength of the Obama candidacy, I think, is an indication of how far the country has come,” said Sinclair-Chapman. “If, in fact, voters are sincere when they say that they won’t support a candidate because they fear for his or her life if they win the nomination, then that really completely undermines the progress that we think we see.”

What’s Kuzco? All I get out of Google is it’s a Disney thing. I don’t get out much, and I suspect Kuzco may be a South American thing, as there were many Spanish language hits on Google.
#20, Scott,
Please replace my final they’re with their.
There, there, don’t let it get you down.
And have a Merry Christmas too.
#18 yeap, and I was a wackjob to in August when I said this whole Argentinian scandal was going on and there were barely any news. I see that you have quite an intelect. How many times did you play “connect the dots”? did you get a figure or an abstract doodle?
As I said, look for the court’s trasncripts for that case I put there. I’m not gonna do everything for you. Do your own research, since you don’t seem to believe what I wrote.
#19 Just give them a bit more time to be completely abhorrent. You won’t be dissapointed.
#21 you got it partly right. Kuzco is my pet name for hugo chavez. Watch one of the disney’s Emperor’s New Groove cartoons. Pay attention to Emperor Kuzco’s personality and you’ll get a pretty good idea how chavez behaves…with a lot less brains and strings being pulled from afar.
Actually, wikipedia has a very nice description:
“…(Kuzco) was very selfish, and would throw someone out the window for interrupting his Theme song, or as he called it, “Groove”…
…Kuzco was very egoistical, as well as arrogant, and not at all soft-spoken. He often spoke in phrases.”
So, maybe you’re right, it’s a Latin American thing.
And Cuzco (with “C”) is an Incan city pretty close where Machu Pichu is built. That’s in Peru.
#23, Wackjob,
As I said, look for the court’s trasncripts [sic] for that case I put there. I’m not gonna do everything for you. Do your own research, since you don’t seem to believe what I wrote.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, …
You made the accusation and now you want ME to do the research to prove your inane point. Grow up.
Maybe Chavez is a little off the cuff or a “kuzco” as you put it. Was he worse than, oh, say a Monagas, Guzman, Cipriano Castro, or Gomez Of course, we can’t forget Venezuelan dictators like Delgato or Perez.
The last I looked, Chavez received 63% in the 2006 Presidential election. His party had 2/3s of the Congress. His support is mostly the poor and dispossessed. Those opposed are the wealthy who believe they have a right to own everything and long for the days of military dictatorships.
