Great, now I have to go create a MySpace page in order to be part of a movement of mass deletion. If you think about it, it actually kind of a cool idea.

-12-
I think that was back when Americans were confused about what really mattered to them. Many of them(us) thought the world wasn't a good place because of the things our country was doing in places such as Vietnam and Cambodia. They thought maybe it was a good idea to finally change laws that were aimed at disenfranchising one ethnic group to benefit another.
There were many issues these guys believed needed to be looked into and redone but, eventually, everyone woke from their drug induced visions of utopia and realised the only thing they(us) needed for a perfect world was more money than their neighbor had in their pockets and they went all out to get as much as possible..from their neighbor first, naturally.

The wife loves Myspace, she has a bunch of "friends" on there who cackle about common interests, not unlike IRC was at one time except with pictures. Oddly enough she has friends in the "real" world too...:-)

I'm not sure I see the point of this. Do what I do, just never visit, never update, never do anything with the friend requests.

Useless bandwidth and diskspace FTW.

I never understood the appeal of Myspace (or facebook). They're like "hip" versions of geocities. Which is sort of like a "hip" version of an infomercial.

But at least with Geocities a few people had useful pages, not just vanity "look at me" crap. I remember there was one guy who had a fantastic page on every aspect of Window's registry, where you find real answers and solutions. I'd guess there isn't any similar such site on Myspace.

This is going to be interesting because unless things have changed recently, I don't think they actually allow people to delete their own account and according to their staff, no-one can delete an account, including the staff.

Which is bullshit of course but it keeps the numbers up.

So Myspace loses a load of users. That doesn't put Facebook in a stronger position does it?

The site that has already prepared for this type of masss user action by not allowing accounts to be deleted.

If Facebook is possibly being used for the purposes discussed previously on this blog then theres no doubt that competetive sites will receive well structured bad press over the next several years.
