Lending a little humor to the semi-frenzied executive departures at Yahoo! is this Yahoo! resignation letter generator. After all, since last week the following have announced their departures:

Jeff Weiner, Executive VP of the network group, and Usama Fayyad, Executive VP of research and computing infrastructure; Qi Lu, Executive VP in charge of search and monetization, Brad Garlinghouse, Senior VP of communication and communities, and Vish Makhijani, Senior VP of search.

To make matters easier for more Yahoo! executives, Mathew Honan from 123 Fake St (ha, ha) in SF registered the domain yahoorezinr.com, and placed a ready-made Yahoo! resignation letter generator there – and just on Friday, no less.

And yep, that’s the same Mathew Honan who’s a contributing editor at Wired. The resignation letter generator is also on a page linked from his own site.

In a Mad Libs-type format, the resignation letter allows you to create your own custom resignation letter to Jerry Yang, or to “whomever is running things today.”

Here is part of the letter:

It is with great

that I ask you to accept this letter as my official resignation from Yahoo!

My last day here will be

after which time I shall be taking a position

Yay! Some actual tech stuff.

Some shocking news: Did you know that Yahoo! actually has some pretty cool and useful features? Their Finance section rocks. I’d use Yahoo! more if they’d clean up their spam-laden free e-mail, fix the message boards and made their search faster. My Yahoo! e-mail account lets hundreds of spams through each week, while maybe 1 or 2 get through on my Gmail account.

I was as loyal to the Yahoo brand as any company could hope but I’ve mostly drifted away.

Yahoo mail still works pretty well but not much else. Google Docs works well and NetVibes has the best home page I’ve found.

If you thought Yahoo was bad wait for the yes man monopoly business management style of the company that brought you Microsoft Vista “the most secure windows operating system ever ” !

Well if I worked for them and then quit I walk out on my last day shouting at the top of my lungs “YAHOO”
