From September 2005 to April 2007 over 350 people died from fentanyl in Chicago (Cook County).

In the previous six years to November 2005, there were 230 deaths, at least 127 accidental (too high a dosage) in Los Angeles. The same repost also mentions another 115 deaths in Florida during 2004.

Because fentanyal is not to be prescribed for acute pain, other opiates such as oxycodone are also used which may result in overdoses.

I could go on with other links to the dangers of opiates. The fact is, they are dangerous. They do kill, not only abusers, but unsuspecting ill patients as well.
