Palins private e-mail hacked, posted to Net | NetworkWorld.com Community — Cripes, what next. Now McCain looks smart for not using email, wot?

The activist group called “anonymous,” best known for its jousts with the Church of Scientology, has apparently hacked into the private Yahoo e-mail account of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican candidate for vice president. Contents of that account, including two sample e-mails, an index of messages and Palin family photos, have been posted by the whistleblower site Wikileaks, which contends that they constitute evidence that Palin has improperly used her private e-mail to shield government business from public scrutiny, an issue that had already been raised by others.

When there is evidence that the Democrats hacked into her accounts, then go ahead say it. Until then, forget it, she got hacked and the illegal emails are there for the Alaska legislature to investigate along with their “Troopergate” committee.

I don’t think there were any illegal emails, at least none that I would describe that way. That is why I think this was a Karl Rove move. Fake a break-in on your own email. Blame the Democrats and call for an investigation then have the investigation dropped after the election. It gets the trooper investigators off her back because they had to delete all of her email accounts so there is nothing to refuse to give them. She walks away clean and the Democrats get blamed.

He has been caught doing this type of thing before. More than once. It is typical Karl Rove.

#42, wow, and I thought that crazy guy down the road saw conspiracies everywhere. But you have him beat buy a mile.

But back on topic, the 2 emails don’t look bad, nothing at least that speaks of some damning conspiracy. If anything it looks more like a mistake. As someone who has multiple email accounts I can relate to that, and have in the past gotten my work and personal accounts crossed.

I don’t even think this was democrat sponsored “hack”. Though I do think that it was done by supporters of Obama, but I will not damn the man for the illegal actions of his supporters, though I would like to see him come out against this kind of behavior.

More to the point all these smear attempts against Palin will probably backfire unless one of them really hits home and soon, which none have done. Think about it, if the left keeps trying to smear Palin with, lets be honest, petty stuff, eventually people are going to see Palin as being targeted unfarely (whether you agree with this or not is mute, politics is about perception). That will only make her more popular.

If I was in the democrats shoes, I would tell my operatives up in Alaska to keep their mouths shut until they have something solid. Instead of trying to attack Palin, go after McCain (you know the guy who Obama is actually running against), and have faith that your VP choice (you know Biden, the guy who is sharing a hidden bunker with Dick Cheney it seems) will do well against her in the debates.

This BS is amazing. Just like all the hot air spewed about impeaching Bush.
Show the evidence, prosecute the crime and get on with it. All this endless conspiracy mongering is a load of crap.
Even with control of Congress, the Libs can’t get Bush impeached. What a bunch of losers.
Bush, Rove, Cheney, convict them and lock them up, but quit the damn whining. The best they could do is railroad Scooter Libby.
Oh, and these people want to run the country? Give me a break!

    Hello, Vice-President Palin.

ok i aMcCain palin guy all the way i think this was a simple case of some kid with nothing else to do that stumbled acrossed some important email acount, not important for its contents but for the person that uses it, it happens all the time i dont think it was the dems and i think any one who thinks it is is just plain stupid think about it what would eather party truly gain from this? other than getting people to ague and i know that mr Obama and mr McCain would not tolerate this from eather of there parties they are both good men and i am sure they would both frown upon this attack on sen palin

  8. Glenn E. says:

I think “anonymous” should have stayed focused on more credible nuisances, like the CoS. But I think I can understand why a faction of them decided to go after Palin. Like the wacko scientologists, Palin represents just another babbling pseudo-religion celebrity, with too much of a public forum, in their view.

  9. BigCarbonFoot says:

It would suck to be a candidate these days with all the scrutiny. I wouldn’t wish it even on Obama.

Think about it. He’s pretty froo froo but once in a while even he must want to be a normal, regular guy and go out in the yard to take a dump just for the hell of it. Imagine him, in the corner of the yard, squatting down, grunting a little, turd hanging halfway out….. and a bunch of photographers show up. That would suck.

J, leave the predictions to the people who know how the gov’t operates. Ya know, don’t try this at home.

  11. Mr. Fusion says:

    #43, Bob,

As someone who has multiple email accounts I can relate to that, and have in the past gotten my work and personal accounts crossed.

Yes, very true. However, Palin is being paid NOT to get her professional life mixed with her personal life. Under the Alaska Freedom of Information laws, her government business emails are open to scrutiny and retention.

More to the point all these smear attempts against Palin will probably backfire

What smears? Please point out ONE relevant claim against Palin that is proven false.
Bristol is Trigg’s mother. Not proven otherwise.
    Tanning bed? True.
Librarian and the banned books? Palin did ask.
Fired the head of law enforcement in Alaska? True with several different reasons depending on the time of day.
Refused to accept subpoena from the Alaska Legislature? True.
Charging the State to stay in her own home? True.
Charging the State to transport her children around the State and Country during the school year? True.
Lied about the “Bridge to Nowhere”? True
Charged rape victims for the investigative rape kit? True.
Ran up a huge debt while Mayor? True.

For the sake of brevity, I’ll cut the list short. Palin’s initial surge of popularity is now fading. With that are the Republican numbers.

Instead of trying to attack Palin, go after McCain

Well gee, the Republicans were the ones that put Palin in our faces as a clean candidate. I just assumed they did that because their man McCain needed some refresher courses on the issues. Oopps, too late, his dementia just came out again.

“wow, and I thought that crazy guy down the road saw conspiracies everywhere. But you have him beat buy a mile.”

Bob I don’t see conspiracies everywhere. I see them where they have the potential to exist. It has been documented time and time again that he has done EXACTLY this kind of thing.

Not that I normally post links to Wiki but all of the evidence listed there can be reference in more and numerous sources.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Rove

I don’t think our government committed 9/11. I don’t think the mafia or CIA killed Kennedy. I don’t believe in the illuminati or at least that they are some evil organization out to control us all.

    BUT

In an instance where the evidence stacks up just like the evidence in a case where this is a known FACT that it was a lie in an attempt to defame their opponent then YES I do believe there is an ABSOLUTE POSSIBILITY that Karl Rove is behind this.

Lets us all just see how long it takes to find a guilty party. If it is anything like the other cases involving Karl Rove, it will simply just fade away.

“J, leave the predictions to the people who know how the gov’t operates. ”

Perhaps you should leave comments on a blog to the people who can read.

What part of my statements don’t you understand?

    LET ME HELP YOU.

Notice the words ” UNLESS” “DANGER” “THEY MAY” “IT DEPENDS” “IF” “SECURITY RISK” “HER OR HER FAMILY” “THEN YES THEY MAY HAVE IT”

Since you don’t understand the matter perhaps you should keep your mouth shut. They, the Secret Service, only have jurisdiction if it involves counterfeit bills, fraud, identity theft (under which this may be classified), or “her security”. The term “her security” is very broad and encompassing. It may OR may not include her email depending on the nature of the incident. That is THEIR judgment call. They have complete discretion because her security precedes any criminal investigation.

Normally, they would have NO, NADA!!! role in this matter.

So next time read before you post.

  13. Paddy-O says:

#52 “Normally, they would have NO, NADA!!! role in this matter.”

You’re still clueless as to why they are involved in this one, aren’t you?

  14. J says:

    # 53 Paddy-O

“You’re still clueless as to why they are involved in this one, aren’t you?”

No, They must feel there is a potential risk or it falls under the identity theft classification. I don’t know if it is classified that way because the law is sketchy in that area. Can they investigate. Sure. They only need to think of potential risk to do that. As a matter of fact they do that type of thing EVERY day. There is a whole detail just for doing that. THAT IS THEIR JOB!!!

Are done pretending you understand something you don’t? It is tiresome when I have made 100% factual statements and a right wing dolt like yourself feels the need to pretend they know more about the matter than there is to know.

  15. J says:

    # 53 Paddy-O

If you are somehow insinuating that the Secret Service is corrupt. Don’t bother! They are amongst the most upstanding and respectable in character. I have known them to be unbiased in their duty. They are there to do their job, not judge, not influence, not anything but their job. They understand that they are not protecting just a person they are protecting an office and a country. They don’t spend their time investigating for political reasons. That would compromise the safety of those under their watch.

So if that is what you are getting at you are wrong on either account.

As the bad publicity she deserves. In the end all this will do is provide more reason NOT to vote McCain.
