Wood from Noah’s Ark found on Mars!

Imagine if it really was wood.

Wait till they find the rest of the fence.

If it really was wood, everyone at NASA would have wood.

Maybe it’s a piece of Santa’s sled from when he conquered the Martians.

Looks like the other rocks around it, only edge on.

Odd that nobody used this as proof of “plankton” on Mars.

Puns aside, it argues strongly for a vital Martian lumber industry. But from the look of it, they’ve done some serious clear-cutting. Now there is no more life on Mars.

Coincidence? I think not.

That is the piece of wood were the real Muslim laws that muslim extremist say were given to them by the prophet. No wonder they’re so lost.

It’s amazing how your brain insists that you know what you’re seeing. It does it’s best to make something out of nothing.

This item in question is clearly a Cadbury flake (do you have those in the USA?), throwing into doubt the claim that women are from Venus.

To play devils advocate here. What if it is wood? Then the question is where did it come from? There is no trees on Mars, at least not recently.
Then of course the real questions come up in the back of all god fearing people. Is what we have been taught and told for hundreds of years become questioned? I myself begin to wonder as I watched some interesting facts come to light which question how things were created.
Finding something simple as wood on Mars brings into question so much about even our small solar system. It will be interesting how much technology will unearth that maybe we would rather not know about?

Interesting that SN mentioned Noah’s Ark. The same topic came up over Thanksgiving dinner, because my old man had a story to tell about seeing oyster shells in the Rocky Mountains. Of course, that was evidence of the great flood. But then he never got past the sixth grade, before the depression hit. So he didn’t know about how plate tectonics most likely formed those mountain ranges. And raised the land from below sea level, a long time ago. This has my wondering if this coming economic depression could lead to a whole new generation of under-schooled, religious fundies? Who know nothing about the world, but what their bibles tell them. God help us.

Scientists have this same problem when they look at things under the microscope. It’s called “ARKaic” methods of interpretating raw unprotected data.

They must be slipping, normally they got people airbrushing all those things that the public may misinterpret. Like all those alien bases on the darkside of the moon.
Mars has some wicked winds, object in the photo is probrably just stratified rock that eroded to that shape. The bright object above it could be the opportunity rover, note the tracks head in that general direction.
Mars gives me wood, and because of that it’s frustrating to see how noones interested unless you start talking about eartlike-life there.

Here are my hopes for the future of Mars exploration.

In the event people ever land on Mars, I’d like to see real-time video of a Martian creature, the size of the Rock of Gibraltar, emerge from below the surface where it has been patiently waiting. Then while all of us watch, it slowly and casually devours the alien invaders and lets out a big burp. Then it displays the universal middle finger salute, and smiles at the camera.
