Having spent a lot of time in DC the last few years I can say it would be easy to get a few nasty people into the crowds there for the big orgasm.

It's worth it if Chu holds to his belief that ethanol is a waste of time. Ask him about this at the confirmation hearings. If he switches, then he's a political hack.

Hey four years ago the liberal media was filled with stories about the excess of Bush's inauguration parties, spending a hundred million dollars while America was at war and had a deficit. I'm sure they're going to run the same stories now right? And liberals are just as angry about these parties too right?

I can't wait to see the mass self-soiling as the ecstasy hit it's peak. I also wonder how many will fall to the ground and start speaking in tongues.

#7 - So right you are. The entertainment is just starting. This fine blog will have plenty of material for the next few years. ;-)

# 9 Mister Mustard said, "Do you imagine that the “vast security net” consists of nothing more than hand-searching people?"

If not, they'll never know what all those people are carrying. Especially, under winter clothing. Thus, the net, is a joke.

I'll be very surprised if any suicide bombers are able to penetrate the vast security net that will be in place. Washington DC has the Metropolitan Police, the National Park Police, the Federal Protective Service, the Secret Service, the FBI, the Postal Inspectors, the Washington Area Transit Authority Police, the Housing and Urban Development Police, military police (Army, Navy and Air Force)and all of the various police forces of the adjoining juristictions. Anyone who has ever had their daily commute interrupted by a presidential motorcade can attest to the fact that there may be more police in Washington than citizens.

And there will be checkpoints.

Re # 2:

Yeah, it would be prime pickings for suicide bombers. I wouldn't be surprised to see several of them set themselves off in the crowd just as Obama starts his speech. And, NO, I don't know that that IS going to happen, but if Hollywood was doing a fictional movie on such an event, that's exactly the time they'd choose. It's just common sense. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near DC on inauguration day.
