Well, Biggie, it wasn’t exactly a “story” as in a vetted, researched, NEWS ARTICLE.

It was an unsigned editorial on the Opinion page in a newspaper whose Opinion pages is world-renowned for it’s right-wing views. No source to back it up. People can say anything they want to in an editorial, a letter to the editor, or a blog posting.

In other words, the moral equivalent of an off-hand remark by Loofah Pad O’Reilly or Anal Cyst Limbaugh.

So.

I’m still waiting for ‘temptie to provide some evidence of his absurd allegation…it’s looking more and more as though he heard it on the Loofah Pad or Anal Cyst show, as I seriously doubt he reads the WSJ. He may have given it a shot after Murdoch bought the paper, but abandoned the attempt after realizing that his reading comprehension was no match for the newspaper.

“Under Minnesota law, election officials are required to make a duplicate ballot if the original is damaged during Election Night counting. Officials are supposed to mark these as “duplicate” and segregate the original ballots. But it appears some officials may have failed to mark ballots as duplicates, which are now being counted in addition to the originals. This helps explain why more than 25 precincts now have more ballots than voters who signed in to vote. By some estimates this double counting has yielded Mr. Franken an additional 80 to 100 votes.”

No place in the state of Minnesota reported more votes than they had registered voters. Not a one. Not Ramsey County, not Hennepin County, not Anoka County, not Mille Lacs County, not Kandiyohi County, no county. Not even Lac Qui Parle County, in case you were going to try and say that the lake told you about the “fraud”.

Just like with Martha Stewart and Richard Nixon, the coverup is always worse than the crime.
