Here is a pic going around the net via email. Interesting shot of the US Airways crash/rescue. And exactly where are those yellow life vest you are supposed to put on in case of a water landing?

    I suspect that the life jackets we saw in the pictures were given out by the ferries and tugs pulling the passengers off.

    The fuel tanks weren’t full. It was a short flight (for that plane) and they don’t carry more weight than needed so as to not burn unneeded fuel. Since it wasn’t full of fuel and didn’t break up it isn’t a surprise that it stayed afloat. Big hollow, water tight wings full of air.

    During the pre-flight briefing, the first-class passengers are told to grab a passenger from coach and use them as a floatation device.

    The skies aren’t so friendly anymore.

    They probably had a bill working it’s way through that would give life preservers and rafts for the “Steerage” but was shot down by the Republicans.
