Tom Daschle cheats on his taxes too!

Is this change we can believe in? Apparently he forgot to declare his limo driver. I’m not sure what bothers me more — that he’s a tax cheat or that he has a limo driver. Why does an ex-senator have a limo driver? Maybe Obama should punt this guy?

    Let’s remember that the it is very common to first nominate the guy you really don’t want, let the opposition shoot him down, and then nominate the guy you actually want.

    Sounds pretty dumb, but that’s the way it seems to work.

    He is the original developer of Obamas presidential run.Just after he lost his senate seat in 2004 he sat down with him and planned the campaign.They will have to catch him eating puppies to get Obama to dump him.

    What this says, more than anything else, is just how broken our tax code system is. I doubt, under careful scrutiny, that few have NOT made an error at one time or another.

    #1 – Your theory falls apart when Congress does anything Obama wants. Daschle will get in after they conduct their “due diligence”.

    #6 Since most on this site only care about the law when as it applies to the other side, this will either be a quiet thread or, lots of people posting attacking the story or trying to obfuscate the issue of the guy being a felon & Obama appointing 2 now to his cabinet.

    Tom Daschle is and always was weak. Toss him and get a Dem with balls. Rahm Emmanuel and Nancy Pelosi both have big brass ones, there must be a few more out there.

    The Finance Committee staff still is reviewing whether travel and entertainment services provided Tom and Linda Daschle by EduCap, Inc., Catherine B. Reynolds Foundation, Academy Achievement, and Loan to Learn should be reported as income. Earlier this month, the Wall Street Journal reported that Daschle made use of the jet belonging to EduCap, a non-profit student loan organization.

    This guy is a special interest magnet.

    Dump him.

    Obama signed an executive order that when a new contractor takes over a federal contract, they have to keep the workers from the previous contractor. Obama should have to do this for his own Cabinet as well.

    Obama has started a precedent. If Timothy Geitner can get away with it, why not Tom Daschle.

    According to Politico, it is just a bit more than the limo driver….

    Tom Daschle, tapped to be President Obama’s health czar, was paid more than $200,000 by the health-care industry in the past two years, according to documents obtained by Politico.

    Err, ummm Mr. President Obama, wouldn’t this be classified as being a lobbyist?

    It’s really a shame when Fox News is the only source that seems to be digging into these. I guess raising taxes is not so bad if you don’t have to pay them.

    Tom Daschle attended the Ted Kennedy seminar on drinking and driving where he learned that if you drink to excess on multiple occasions for years on end it is far cheaper to hire a chauffeur than to have your car fished out of a lake or river.

    As far as tax evasion, that doesn’t seem to be a top priority in the Obama administration.
