That has to be the sloppiest arrest I have ever seen. What say you? Stay with the video till the end as it transitions into news coverage of the arrest.

  1. BigBoyBC says:

“Three big copa and one woman on a bicycle”

    Sounds like a porn movie…

  2. mj says:

@14 Didn’t you watch the news video? Clearly says that she was pulled over for riding on the sidewalk. So does the blurb if you click on the video and go to the liveleak site.

@11 “I celebrate every time I see a cop die.”

    That’s a bit harsh, don’t you think?

  3. amodedoma says:

    19

I was thinkin’ that too and was gonna say the same thing, but it seemed a little harsh.

I guess we should all be greatful that there are still some Barney Fife’s out there. For you youngins Barney Fife is an older version of Roscoe P. Coltrane.

  4. Masterscout1977 says:

It’s not illegal to ride your bike on the sidewalk. It’s just illegal to be black while doing it. These cops could be protecting the streets from the scum of the earth, instead they decide to harass a woman on a bicycle. Really macho!!! These cops are a disgrace to the uniform. Of course the cop left the force… He was probably laughed out by all the real cops.

  5. John E. Quantum says:

#19 The process of hiring cops should include very extensive and tough-as-hell psychological testing…

That would eliminate a large percentage of the applicants- so where would we find our police recruits?

I’m just glad he didn’t attempt to draw and use his taser.

  6. Who says:

#24 – They wouldn’t have any cops. They have to hire them border line retarded so they will take orders, kinda like the Marines.

In this case he probably would have tasered himself.

  7. Jantmass says:

The Marines don’t want retards. I suppose you work for yourself so you don’t have to take orders from anyone.

  8. amodedoma says:

  9. amodedoma says:

    #25

No need to bring the marines into this. Funny how you never hear people say that kind of crap in public. It’s like those people who call police pigs but when they get pulled over they’re all yes sir no sir, submissive like little lambs.

  10. Mr. Fusion says:

The other two cops were complicit in this arrest. A person is allowed to resist a false arrest.

  11. pfkad says:

I always ride my bike on the sidewalk (it’s a Huffy no-speed, no-mountain, no-nothing cruiser with a basket big enough to hold two gallons of milk or a 12 pack depending on my mood). I don’t cross at intersections either (since the right turn on red law, nobody looks right, only left to find an open spot in traffic). Besides, I’m almost always the only person on the sidewalk: not a lot of pedestrians now days. To me it seems safer and I really don’t bother anybody. I guess I’m looking for a real ass whipping someday.

  12. Dallas says:

Cops are out of control. The whole idea of arresting a person riding bike on the sidewalk, in the night, in what looks like a fog is ridiculous.

What a bunch of pussy cops, too. Must be republican.

  13. ECA says:

    618 AM
Still dark and riding a bike..to work?? HOME from work??
Riding a bike on the street in DAY LIGHT is scary enough..esp on MAIN roads.
IN THE DARK?? it can be your life.

NO body is ON the sidewalk, and MOST people arent walking much ANYWAY..

THE COP wanted to stop her, to check her out and FIND OUT what she was doing at 618AM..
    PROBLEM is he WAS STUPID..
Should have just stopped her, and asked a few questions..BUT he pulled out the pepper spray..

  14. TThor says:

Bicycling on the sidewalk in the middle of the night causes this policeman to ballistic…. Unbelievable! What about judging the situation, be lenient and order her to stay on the road and leave it at that. Causes no harm to anyone anyway. But no, he arrests her!
Are there only morons in the police? Judging from all the clips I see here I would feel more safe in old Soviet Union or China for that matter than the US. What worries me is the obvious mainstream desire to use brutal force, power even weapons even for tiny issues like these. That is simply sick. Police officers should be hand picked for their ability to tolerate stress, superior judgements and people skills. How stupid I am to think that.
The officer in question here resigned, probably after good advise – and I hope for him that he seeks psychiatric help. Something is seriously wrong.

  15. Gern Blanston says:

Meanwhile just a mile away… A bank robbery, two muggings, and a home invasion robbery take place without interruption. Thank GOD they got that crazy bitch off the sidewalk!

    Chicken Chicken Chicken!

  16. RBG says:

If only there was a way to get rid of all the cameras. We deserve freedom from government surveillance …Big Brother… Next, Neo-Nazi storm troopers… the usual paranoid lefty blah, blah, blah.

  17. Nadrew says:

I don’t know the area, but where I lived in San Diego, (very white area btw) police vs. druggies/lowlifes was a constant. It is hard to catch someone in the act. It requires police work to solve cases. Police tend to be a bit more proactive/aggressive.

Person riding a bike in the wee hours? In certain areas, very good chance of carrying or being high. Also, a good chance that the bike was stolen. Druggies do seem to have a predilection to commit crime. Another thing, since almost everyone in certain areas is dirty, there is a high probability of an outstanding warrant or being a person of interest in another crime.

Riding on a sidewalk is an infraction? So he can pull her over and try to escalate it into probable cause to detain, search and/ or arrest. And by doing so, quite possibly clear any number of other open cases.

This is the reality. Profiling? Of course. But this is low hanging fruit. Limited resources and all that.

    But, what a dufus…

  18. bobbo says:

#Nadrew– you sound conflicted about this.

Good example of what happens if you assume everyone is guilty, or everyone is innocent. The law says the latter, cops act like the former.

Also interesting how stupid laws can combine to keep our prisons full and make us all criminals. Riding on sidewalks should not be an infraction, and having drugs should not be an infraction, and being surprised and offering minimal resistance should not be a crime. Instead, lady has an arrest record, jail time, is now unemployable–a burden to us all now.

  19. smartalix says:

It’s like those people who call police pigs but when they get pulled over they’re all yes sir no sir, submissive like little lambs.

That is a stupid thing to say. Of course I will kiss a cop’s ass in those circumstances where I am at his or her mercy. Duh. Any fears that the cop is bad would only increase my desire for self-preservation.

The bottom line is we should not fear those who are supposedly sworn to protect and serve us.

  20. RBG says:

Man, I fear anybody who has a loaded gun and is clearly very unhappy with me. But that’s just me.
