Until Windows 7 ships Microsoft could offer free downloads of Elevate America content that people could read while Vista boots. Windows 7 boots 4 times as fast on my MSI Wind Netbook with 320 gig hardrive as compared to Dell 1330 with Fast SSD hard drive. OSX boots on my netbook even faster than Windows 7. I think MSFT is being a good corporate citizen by offering support to Elevate America. People need to learn new skills so we can create a more adapatble and employable workforce. I plan to offer donate a portion of revenue from my tandem paragliding operation to support Elevate America.

I would be interested in 599 Apple NetBook if it had better performance than OSX Hackintosh MIS Wind or Dell mini 9 netbooks.

It sounds like Jobs is going under some sort of treatment no one wants to talk about. Either he's got ex-CIA watching his doctors, or he's in real trouble.

As for the Netbook story, Apple really seems to have a thing about going below the $600 price point on low end computers. My thinking would be that a $500 Mac Mini or Netbook would sell much better than the $100 difference would indicate, but they clearly think differently.

"Apple may do a Netbook for $599. Why so expensive?"

Are you seriously asking why Apple is making a similar, but more expensive comparable computer?
