#11 said: "Everything belongs to the government and those that run it."

So you noticed that too? The part I missed was the one were I admitted being a lib, 'cause those are the ones ready to sing the prayers of their beloved leaders and gleefully give their earthly possesions to "the cause".

pedro, I think you are going to get your wish which means you will then have the right to shut up and do as you are told.

I'm sure you and RBG will make good peons/serfs.

I started to say slaves but I don't think that is actually right because the concept of private property is going out the door. Everything belongs to the government and those that run it.

Isn't it ironic that Orwell envisioned England as a defacto totalitarian extension of the US. "Airstrip One" (reflecting the role of England during WWII as an American launching point).

Who would have guessed that England would do this to themselves without any outside help.

<i>"Censorship control to information is the first step to totalitarianism. Orwell, a Brit, would have understood."</i>

I don't know. Let's try an experiment on this one country to see if Orwell's work of fiction rules, or if the same kind of people responsible for dealing with day-to-day life-or-death decisions in our society also have the similar judgement to deal responsibly with some censorship.

Wouldn't it be funny if the image of the smallest amount of censorship always leading to goose-stepping facisist stormtroopers turned out to be simply wishful thinking? And the real reason for no censorship was to protect the goose-stepping money-grubbers looking to make a buck?

Nothing is cut. It is copied and pasted.
