It’s never gonna get any better, don’t look for it, be happy with what you got. Because the owners of this country don’t want that. I’m talkin’ about the real owners now. The big, the wealthy, the REAL owners, the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions. Forget the politicans, they’re irrelevant. The politicans are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land, they own and control the corporations, they’ve long since bought and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets, and they own all the big media companies so they control all the news and information you hear. THEY GOT YOU BY THE BALLS! They spend billions of dollars ever year lobbying every year to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everyone else. But I can tell you what they don’t want — they don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that, that doesn’t help them, that’s against their interests. That’s right. You know something? They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around the kitchen table and figure out how badly they’re getting fucked by a system that threw them overthrew 30 fucking years ago. They don’t want that. You know what they want? They want OBEDIENT WORKERS. Obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork and just dumb enough to passably accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the moment you go to collect it. And now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your fucking retirement money. They want it back, so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street. And you know something? They’ll get it, they’ll get it all from you sooner or later. Cause they own this fucking place. It’s a big club and you ain’t it! You and I are not in the big club. By the way, it’s the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe, all day long telling you what to believe, what to think, and what to buy. The table is tilted folks, the game is rigged. And nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care. Good honest hard-working people, white-collar, blue-collar, doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on, continue, these are people of modest beings continue to elect these rich cock-suckers who don’t give a fuck about you! They don’t care! At all, at all, at all!

Answering the question about when this was done, I believe this was “Life is Worth Losing,” or some similar title — 2006 maybe? One of his only recent performances I really liked. (Sadly, sometime in the mid-90s, he went from insanely funny to old man ranting … I still love his 1992 and earlier stuff.)

About all the politics:

It’s time for EVERYONE to get off their high horses. “Repuglicans” and “Dumbocrats” adds nothing to political discourse and makes the name-caller look uneducated and silly. BOTH parties are screwing us with no Vaseline, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future, because WE ALLOW THEM TO. Both parties use splinter issues (“intelligent design” vs evolution, gay rights, abortion, free speech, gun rights, war, a zillion others) to get your vote on ONE point, then screw you on all the others. Neither party represents its constituents (except at the trough during pork feeding time), only their corporate lobbyist masters.

And there’s nothing we can do about it.

I believe George espouses all that wonderful truth but caps it with hopelessness (saying essentially there’s nothing you can do about the current situation) because when he passed on he was an older man, at the end of his life and defeated from having spent so much time (apparently) futiley fighting the system. A younger person holding the same values would be quite hopeful and effective. That’s you and me, baby.

In my community and state they are trying to develop critical thinking skills in the public schools. Subjects that used to wait for high school are now way down in junior high. They want to give their kids and communities a future and they are pushing bleeping hard to get it.

The expected job market for people with the skills Carlin suggested is no more than one if four jobs if that.

Go take an aptitude test for job placement now and see how you do. Unless you are smarter than some of the people posting seem to be the job market bleeps.

Bobbo is a yeller dog Democrat. He’d vote for a yeller dog if that was what ran on the Democratic ticket and justify it somehow.

He may admit that Democrats can do wrong but hand him a list of broken promises and he starts shoving out horse apples. It’s also obvious that as for as he is concerned every real bleep up that has ever occurred had to be because of a Republican.

Republicans have made their fair share of bad choices but they hardly hold a monopoly on making bad choices. If Bobbo could actually see people as individuals and judge them based on their actions rather than party labels he might actually compute.

Will Rogers said that we have the best Congress that money can buy.

This is hardly news. Taking money from people willing to give money is how Congress critters raise money to get elected and part of how they and their families get rich/richer while they are in office. Pork barrel legislation is a major part of how they keep getting re-elected so Obama is going to have no impact on that bombast aside and yes if he doesn’t do something serious to try and reduce the problem I’ll hold that lie against him just as I strongly resent his failure to follow through on his open government promises.

One of my favorite non-sequitors that George Carlin actually riffs on quite successfully: Violate gods wishes and he will send you to hell for eternity – - – but he loves you. Yes, good sound critical thinking for our schools.

I mention the Ferengi because it reflects our culture…everywhere business people are denigrated as greedy, selfish…and ridiculed as such in late night shows, tv programs, and caricatured in our schools…

But the capitalist system is the greatest vehicle of wealth creation known to mankind, and has lifted more out of poverty than anything in human history. Just look at China before capitalism, and see it now after just a couple of decades…They would all be starving if still trying the socialist model…

Carlin refers to “they who control” to explain why critical thinking is not found in our schools…Its possible I wrongly limited his application, as emhodew pointed out, liberals make up the 1%….

They control Hollywood, are the money behind the Democratic party, and the real force in our schools…

Someone they escape their own demands for equality…not wanting to live as we do…but in Beverly Hills..in mansions…making much more than $250,000 a year…and flying their own jets, not those belonging to any corporation…Why doesn’t Obama chastise them for their greed…clearly emhodew made a sound observation.

As for your last about God, the conclusions is based upon a generalization fallacy.

An analogy. Bobbo says he loves Mary X.

Mary X is drowning and Bobbo swims out to her, lifts her head so she can breathe, and begins taking her to shore. Mary X insists, demands Bobbo let her go, or she will scream rape. She begins hitting Bobbo in the face, slashing at his eyes screaming he should let her go…

Finally, realizing he had no right to overwhelm her free will, Bobbo lets her go and she drowns…

God came in the flesh, died for our sins, all we need do is confess this fact before men…and we are saved…

Yet Bobbo won’t do that…he refuses…

God showed Bobbo nothing but love…he replied with hate…when Bobbo goes to hell, the fault is his own…not God’s.

Well, your rant is too general to deserve a specific response. When you get specific to the degree that facts can be checked, I’ll give it a go. What the schools are doing in general is simply much too vague. We can agree they are failing, but then completely disagree as to why. Too much religion, not enough science or vice versa?

Is not taught in schools, it is taught by the ‘Church’ And I can tell you do not have any children, or have not mastered tough love.
You give children the tools to live a good life, but you can not live it for them. If they do not follow the path you give them, then they might fail.
It is the lack of critical thinking that allows you to miss the real thought so badly mangled in Georges ‘teachings’. God loves you and so gives you free will. (instead of making you a slave) God has laid a path for you to follow. It is narrow, but has some room for divergence. If you deviate from the path you will fall. But because of the free will he gave you he will not stop you from following your own path.

Of course, maybe there is no God. Maybe we are just monkeys swinging from our man made trees.
Then we really need those critical thinking skills to navigate the forest of people we meet and need to deal with.

(BTW, Science fiction was created as a form of social/political commentary. DS9 was a very well written SciFi work that used various races to describe the social behavior of us. It is easier to have a different race exhibit social characteristics. Read the original SciFi work, Gulliver’s Travels. And remember, the British people still do not have free speech)
