President Obama will speak at Notre Dame’s commencement on May 17. That is an honor to some, but an outrage to others.
Some alumni have called the campus saying they have thrown away their Fighting Irish sweatshirts in disgust. The local bishop, John D’Arcy, has vowed to boycott the graduation ceremony. A visiting high school senior, Halley Chavey, who said she was thrilled just weeks ago to be accepted here, said she might reject the offer because the college was hosting “the most pro-abortion president we’ve ever had…”
“Most of us are like, ‘Wow, the president of the United States is coming,’ ” said Brett Ensor, a Texas native who belongs to the Knights of Columbus, opposes abortion and voted for Mr. Obama’s Republican opponent, Senator John McCain. “What college wouldn’t want Obama to come? This is a tremendous honor for us…”
Notre Dame is regarded as an academic powerhouse and conservative Catholic bastion. But in a mock election here in November, Mr. Obama defeated Mr. McCain among students by about 11 percentage points. He won roughly the same margin of victory among Catholic voters in the national election…
In the view of the Rev. Richard McBrien, a prominent liberal theologian at Notre Dame, the commotion over Mr. Obama centers not on faith, but on politics.
“This crowd,” Mr. McBrien said, referring to conservative Catholics, “are simply Republicans who are upset that Obama won the election — and they want to pick a fight.”
Pretty accurate characterization of American Catholics in the article. Including their divergence from monocultural obedience as required by the Vatican.

CNN? Never trust the media to report accurately…today they are advocates for particular positions, completely in the tank for most left causes and Obama….

You claim the media is in the tank for Obama, is that why you are having such a difficult time finding some evidence that Obama sold drugs? Or that Obama will force doctors to perform abortions? You can’t find anything even among your wacko religious sites?
You dispute CNN, which is a reputable news gatherer. Yet you prance out with this book called the bible and expect us all to fall flat believing every word in it.

for starters..i say take away their tax exempt status. -add to that, for every *unwanted child* they insist on birthing, charge the local church $500 a month per child. if they’re so gung-ho about life, charge’em for the privilege.
that should take some of the wind out of their sails.
we have an overpopulated planet. if the church causes a child who would have otherwise been aborted, to be carried to term, hit’em, where it hurts. -in the wallet.

personally, i don’t care for obama’s policies one bit, -esp his cabinet picks. i think he and his cronies will lead this country to ruin.
..however, if the student body wishes to enjoy the privilege of our country’s President
speaking at their commencement address, i’d be pretty peeved if a bunch of religious zealots couldn’t sit down and stfu for one lousy day so
as to enjoy the honor of having the President
speak at the school.

the euphoria and electricity of the
Presidents visit on campus before they get

Congratulations! You are now fulfilling the Bible which says “Come now, and let us repeat together.”
Be sure to repeat what Walvoord, Lindsey, LaHaye, Ice etc. repeat what their own teachers repeat what their own teachers repeat etc. etc. etc.!
Repeat that Christ’s return is imminent because we’re told to “watch” (Matt. 24, 25) for it. So is the “day of God” (II Pet. 3:12) – which you admit is at least 1000 years ahead – also imminent because we’re told to be “looking for” it?
Also repeat the pretrib myths about the “Jewish wedding stages” and “Jewish feasts” (where’s your “church/Israel dichotomy” now?) even though Christ and Paul knew nothing about a “pretrib stage” and neither did any official theological creed or organized church before 1830!
You should read “Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty” on the “Powered by Christ Ministries” site to find out why you shouldn’t repeat everything your pretrib teachers repeat.
