What I cannot understand is how Garofalo keeps getting work. Every time I see her on a talk show, Leno, Conan, Letterman, whatever, she completely trashes the movies she’s supposed to be promoting. Why does Hollywood keep hiring her?!

Inaction would be welcome. Some good old fashioned gridlock would have stopped the TARP, the AIG giveaways, the fannie/freddie bullshit and the now permanent multi trillion dollar annual deficits.
BOTH parties made this mess through their actions, not inaction, and played the public for fools. And the public has been fools to allow it to happen.
Both sides still don’t get it. The country is bankrupt. There will be no national health care, no missile defense, no social security, no new american century. This debt can’t be repaid and this level of borrowing can’t be sustained for more than a few more months at best.

I”m not sure what this clip is trying to accomplish. It showed her saying something weird about why people are protesting and some old clip of her talking about the right to protest. In those clips she didn’t turn around and directly contradict herself. She didn’t say “These protests are about a black man in the white house and they shouldn’t be allowed to protest” or “Gibberish about the brain and they shouldn’t be protesting.” If she had said that then the clip would have a point.
She said they were racist and dumb not that racist and dumb people shouldn’t protest. If you want to complain about calling them racist and dumb that is one thing but to contrast it with clips of her talking about the right to protest doesn’t make sense.

She’s right. The tea parties were a farcical cover for rednecks pure and simple. I grew up in the heartland, am a prototypical angry white guy, and I know racist blowhards when I see and hear them. These a-holes are a discredit to conservatism. Obama had nothing to do with the present tax code, and the bailouts were a bi-partisan idea. It’s just that too many Repubs saw the opportunity to cut and run, knowing that the bailouts would pass, which is what they wanted but didn’t have the spine to be caught supporting.
