After Donald Rumsfeld testified on the Hill about Abu Ghraib in May, there was talk of more photos and video in the Pentagon’s custody more horrific than anything made public so far. “If these are released to the public, obviously it’s going to make matters worse,” Rumsfeld said. Since then, the Washington Post has disclosed some new details and images of abuse at the prison. But if Seymour Hersh is right, it all gets much worse.
Hersh gave a speech last week to the ACLU making the charge that children were sodomized in front of women in the prison, and the Pentagon has tape of it.

“Debating about it, ummm … Some of the worst things that happened you don’t know about, okay? Videos, um, there are women there. Some of you may have read that they were passing letters out, communications out to their men. This is at Abu Ghraib … The women were passing messages out saying ‘Please come and kill me, because of what’s happened’ and basically what happened is that those women who were arrested with young boys, children in cases that have been recorded. The boys were sodomized with the cameras rolling. And the worst above all of that is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking that your government has. They are in total terror. It’s going to come out.”

The Telegraph and other news organizations described “a videotape, apparently made by US personnel, is said to show Iraqi guards raping young boys.” The Guardian reported “formal statements by inmates published yesterday describe horrific treatment at the hands of guards, including the rape of a teenage Iraqi boy by an army translator.”

>>So consensual sex between adults is EXACTLY the same as child rape?
I never said that and you know it. I stated that I don’t believe it happened and you have offered no proof that it did.
What a dink. By the way, if you are looking for pathetic try the mirror, there you will find a big sack of it.
I wonder sometimes on WHO is responsible for our government.
we have all these folks running to represent us, we see them SUCKING up to religious persons, and saying they are honest and just. AND WHAT DO WE GET??
YES, war is hell. but HONOR and consideration for the other person, is ALSO a show of HOW “WE ARE”.
This is the image of American behavior that the Cheney administration burdened American presidents for generations to come.
Now Cheney has lost it. In an effort to preserve his miserable legacy, he is attacking everything and everyone. Time for euthanasia.

The proof is in the video, but if the video really shows -that- they could never release it because it would be too horrible to watch, let alone broadcast.
Kind of a catch-22.
I can’t believe I’m re-engaging you, contempt.
“I never said that and you know it. I stated that I don’t believe it happened and you have offered no proof that it did.”
To wit:
“No I didn’t miss the the point of rebuttal, I just don’t believe a word of it.”
So you don’t believe, in the original rebuttal by the dangerous infidel, the following:
“You appear to be too stupid to recognize the substantive difference between intentionally inflicted sexual humiliation and consensual sex between adults.”
Seeing as how you “don’t believe a word of it.”
Moving on … Exactly how many times would someone like me have to say that I, TOO, don’t believe this report before you actually hear it?
I’d love to continue this battle of the wits, but I don’t believe in fighting unarmed foes.
In re #20, Breetai:
When I first read this report, I was disgusted — as I think most right-minded people would be. But it stank like BS. And it wasn’t until after I read your comment that it dawned on me why it set off my BS meter — which, oddly, isn’t necessarily related to your comment.
(However, I agree with you: IF this happened, the Army most likely already dealt with those responsible in rather severe terms.)
So this is why I call BS: Why isn’t this on the mainstream press? I’m not saying that the mainstream press is infallible — far freakin’ from it, they’re generally incompetent boobs who can’t find their own asses with both hands a tour guide. But (aside from Fox News) they’ve been all over torture and other “issues” (for lack of better word) at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo for years. Indeed, big news this morning was about Steven Green (http://tinyurl.com/o3ar2u) and his conviction for his role in the murder and rape of a 14-year-old Iraqi girl and the mass murder of her family — while on a tour.
So if the mainstream press has no problem reporting on that event, why would they ignore something as atrocious as what this report claims? Easy: It’s most likely fabricated. Or to use the more common term, bullshit.
A lot of awful things have definitely happened at Abu Ghraib, Gitmo and other locales in the name of the good, God-fearing, right-minded, patriotic and loyal United States of America. When crap like this is fabricated out of whole cloth, it only serves to undermine the cause of those who want to stop the atrocities on our side of the fence.
The damage is not in the reality of this happened or not, but who believes it. And the whole Muslim world believes it. Why do you think that the Iraqi’s turned against America as their liberators, why do you think that the Taliban has reasserted control of large areas of Pakistan? Because of this type of hearsay.
In their eyes, if the conduct by American soldiers in Abu-Gharaib has been proven true, why should worse things be in any doubt? They see the US military misbehaving as ‘Liberators’ in a miriad of ways, and they assume that even worse is happening that is hidden.
If our military had been held to ‘higher standards’ by our leaders, then this whole quagmire might have never taken place. Utterly failed leadership in the form of Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld led either directly or indirectly to the hatred of US troops throughout the middle east, and severely impacted the US national security and interests for decades to come while the damage is repaired.
Wow, raping children, American really has sunk low. I wonder what those who fought and died for your country in WW2 and Korea think of you now.
When the “good guys” start doing the same things as the “bad guys” they are no longer the good guys, shame on you USA.
When the “good guys” start doing the same things as the “bad guys” they are no longer the good guys, shame on you USA.
The USA is starting to eat itself, DCMA, the Patriot Act, Abu Ghraib etc etc
Hello Rome… ooops I mean USA, you are too concerned with your own power and the cancer will not stop. The harder you try to surpress your own people and hold onto power the further it will get from you.
I will be around to tell my grandkids,
“I remember when the USA was the land of the free. No no, don’t laugh they were once the most powerful nation on earth… look get up off the floor and listen… dam kids”
Wow, I despair in humanity sometimes, especially when pedophile supporters like #9 try twist the story their own advantage…

Still no Alfred1 comments? I hate it when the Rapture happens and you don’t notice it.
If I were Rush Limbaugh I would say “It’s not rape, it’s an infusion of American seed.”
and now, back to RECENT news….
Two things.
1st. If the US want’s to have any moral authority to say to China, Russia, South Korea and any other ruthless evil regime, then; YES we have to prosecute people for WAR CRIMES.
2nd. History is prelude to the future. If the US doesn’t want this to ever happen again, then; YES we have to prosecute people for WAR CRIMES.
It’s painful, it’s humiliating, but; it’s the American thing to do, it’s the right thing to do!!!!!
If anyone says differently they should go live in China or Russia, because; they are not a real AMERICAN.
Remember Winter Soldier and make sure this actually happened….although it does fit the overall political reality, and it will be helpful to Obama in the long run so whether it’s true or not, I’m going to spread the meme.
Screw Bush and anyone who thinks he’s not as bad as Hitler….at least Hitler was really elected!
Some of you are missing a very important point: IT WAS NOT US SOLDIERS DOING THE RAPING! If it even happened at all. We have a man’s claim that he is aware of a video. He should have produced it for examination. He claims a US soldier did the taping but doesn’t tell us the motive. Maybe he was documenting evidence for the Iraqi authorities. Let’s give the US soldiers the benefit of the doubt here until we know what, if anything, happened. I am not denying it happened, I’ve lived in Islamic countries and know of rapes of sons and daughters as interrogation tools. It;s just about the worst thing you can do to a family in many of the cultures. But, again, no knee jerks until we know the truth, please.
So #35 is going to spread the meme, true or not…
Hey Dan! Is your last name Goebbels? Are you Obama’s self-appointed propaganda minister? You sound more like a Nazi, than Bushie’s Boys.
Just remember, the Nazi who ran the concentration camps, claimed they were only following orders too, it was BS then, as it is now.
Go after the ones who authorized what went on in that prison by all means, but don’t let those shameful bastards who discraced our nation, the ones who actually did the deed, get off scott-free.
Want the truth?
