Basically Obama is turning out to be another Constitutional Professor who is too much a coward to defend it’s very precepts. The very precepts many of my friends have died in WAR to protect.

I propose we only elect people who have “demonstrated real life and actual acts” of defending constitutional precepts, not just talking eloquent or teaching about them.

Of all the veterans I know, not one has ever felt the need to iterate their service record to prove a point. Only if necessary would they even say, “I served”. They might give their unit but would never even imply they were better (an officer for example) than the guy sitting next to them. It just ain’t done. Only a wannabe or pretender would that.

Actually, I do hate to disagree with you there Fusion, but the Declaration of Independence was a propaganda letter meant to incite riot and revolution within the Colonies themselves. It had *no* legal effect whatsoever, and in fact has never been signed into law by any government.

It’s also a very beautiful letter, and a nice philosophical document.

But as a legal document, it is worth less than the Articles of Confederation (as they *were*, albeit briefly, signed into law by a legitimate government. Though technically it wasn’t the *United States Government*.)
