    #7 – hhopper

No, it’s the left one… nothing he says is logical. ;)

    #11 – Mr. Fusion

    LOL :D

    #19 – Alfredone

Yeah, we know that you’re just another honest Christian Republican.

  2. Cblank21 says:

Just bought her book “My Stroke of Insight.” It was a quick read at only 200 pages. Very fascinating and very enlightening. Though I do agree she still trips out on her experiences.

  3. Poppa Boner says:

I like a woman with brains.

  4. Ah_Yea says:

I was imagining how interesting it would be to have her as a professor.

I also was impressed by how closely her experience mirrored a good LSD trip.

Overall, I’m glad she got through this experience as an apparently whole and happy person. That’s not usually what happens.

  5. Alfred1 says:

    #19 Isn’t that a violation of the rules…impersonating me?

  6. Alfred1 says:

#19 is a violation of the posting guidelines against slander:

…communication of false statements injurious to a person’s reputation. 2. A false and malicious statement or report about someone.-American Heritage Dictionary

The slimy runt should be exposed, his identity made known to us all.

  7. Special Ed says:

Alf – I fart in your general direction.

  8. Alfred1 says:

#24 I didn’t see that and I had over 300 of them, back when the chemicals were ideologically inspired…Owsley etc.

Her experiences did shed light on the near death experiences…the light at the end of the tunnel variety…

It did nothing for those who saw themselves going into hell…for whom the experience was not pleasant at all…in fact, it was so terrible these are usually blotted out from memory, in self defense, by the mind, a few days later.

  9. Alfred1 says:

#19 The slimy turd who posts under other names should be exposed…for the dickless troll he is…probably Special Ed’s brother

#24Colors, paisley print, breathing walls, floor…that’s an LSD trip…not what this woman described.

I once did 4 hits and the everything became colors for about 8 hours…I had to be led by the hand as though I was blind.

    Nothing like the woman described.

  10. Ah_Yea says:

    The “bad” acid trip.

  11. Sea Lawyer says:

#29, yeah, and I also don’t see the connection between a malfunctioning brain being unable to process sensory input, and making the world a better place.

  12. Hugh Ripper says:

#23 I like women with brains also. Not sure about women with brains in jars, however.

  13. KD Martin says:

A very astounding analogy of what happens when the left hemisphere dies — a balloon with just one breath of air left.

What a trip. A most interesting monologue. Thanks, Hop, for bringing this one forward.

  14. Great American says:

Can’t you trip like I do?

  15. Mr. Fusion says:

    #26, Alphie,

#19 is a violation of the posting guidelines against slander:

Now isn’t that the kettle calling the pot black !!!

    Let’s see, post #29,

#19 The slimy turd who posts under other names should be exposed…for the dickless troll he is…probably Special Ed’s brother

Didn’t you just slander and accuse Special Ed’s brother as well as Ed?

    Ain’t karma a bitch.

  16. Mr. Fusion says:

    #29, Alphie,

    I once did 4 hits and …
I had to be led by the hand as though I was blind.

Hint, that wasn’t God you saw, it was just a cockroach climbing the wall.

And your blindness? You had your underwear on the wrong end again, or maybe not. Hard to tell.
(and the truth is a defense against the charge of slander or libel)

  17. C_love says:

This is one of the more interesting TED talks I have seen. It actually goes along with many “spiritual” beliefs that rely on people achieving spirituality through living in the present moment. How living in the present can bring on peace and nirvana. If you’ve ever read the Power of Now, you will definitely recognize this; at the basis of many spiritual teachings, it is the same idea. Interesting to see a scientist experience this feeling firsthand, even if it was not voluntary. I thought it was fascinating and it makes me want to read her book.

  18. Special Ed says:

I demand that #29 be banned for being a total asswipe and slandering cocksucker.

  19. Alfred1 says:

    # 37 You and special Ed a tag team now…lots of yuks on the daisy chain circuit?

Interesting you both have asswiping on the brain.
