I’m a liberal athiest Democrat (which, as a bit of thought will tell you, is slightly different from a bible thumping fundamentalist) who’s tired of seeing Obama treated like Elvis on tour instead of the President we voted for.

No one said he couldn’t go off with the fam, but we do have the right to wonder why this is the top story when so much else is going on.

I realize you are not capable of seeing dissent as anything but Scary Christian Rush Limbaugh Attacks, but sometimes the grownups need to break through the press’ adulation to point out that he is not following up on his promises. In fact, he’s not doing much different than Bush on several issues. As long as he’s not Bush, this is obviously ok with you. I hope the resulting Republican resurgence in a few years will also be ok with you. (actually, it probably will, as you can indulge your Bush Derangement Syndrome to the fullest, and full spittle-flecked-rant mode will be the norm again.) Me. I’d rather see some real changes and convince the oldsters and rednecks that the Republicans are not going to help them.

It is really tiresome listening to the right wing nuts complain every time the President has a bowel movement.

Dead on regarding Bush. He was and is an asshole.

I’m sure Obama wants some private time with his family. But it won’t be something he’ll experience much of for the next 3 3/4 years… or hopefully 7 3/4 years. He knew the job requirements.

Second, I do think Obama would like to have some time out with his family without the intrusiveness of all the SS there. It’s called privacy, and believe it or not, all normal people do crave it.
