There’s a lot of speculation as to why Sarah Palin has resigned as Alaska’s Governor. Some say she’s attempting to avoid an impending scandal. Some say she wants to build support for her 2012 run for the presidency. Some say she’s pregnant again. Others are saying that Palin is tired of the media circus and is out of politics for good.
So what do you guys and gals think. Why did Palin resign?
Cause she sucks donkey balls.
Throwing in a joke answer completely nullifies the effect of the poll.
Any exercise in guessing what an irrational self absorbed unread undeserving celebrity will do is truly pointless.
So, I’m guessing its a combination of everything you said.
We all look for hidden reasons…but she is so plain spoken, a normal person and not a triangulating politician , its likely the real reason was given by her…
She believes she can do more as a citizen unencumbered by the duties of a lame duck Governor.
Time will tell if she spoke correctly.
If true, then her star will rise even higher…if not, she is history.

Alfred1, if she was a plain spoken person she would have given the people who elected her to a full term as Governor a reasonable reason.

I think she’s resigned for more money not more politics. Expect to see her on the The View (right side chair) and/or Fox News.

Being a Governor in a recession has to suck. All those hard choices on what to cut. All those people saying raise taxes instead. No GOP candidate can get the presidential nomination if they raised taxes.
My guess is that Alaska is in for a big tax increase or a big cut in services. Palin knows that it is better to look like quitter than to suck it up and make tough decisions. You know presidential material in the tradition of W.
She was offered a highly paid breeding position in the Alaskan division of the “Boys from Brazil, Inc.”
You guys are missing the point….She is cashing in! She can make more money doing media jobs and speaking to organizations than being governor or Alaska. She is using this to make more money. You would do the same if it were you.
I don’t have an opinion either way on her but don’t blame her for cashing in while she can.

Of course she has political ambitions – for nothing less than the presidency. She quit to move to a media pulpit more centrally located than the Alaska governorship. I assume that pulpit will take the form of a right-wing talk radio show (like we need another one of THOSE) or, more likely, a show on Fox News where she can show off her physical charms to advantage.
As long as the political right in the U.S. keeps going ga-ga over brainless twits like Palin and Dubya, they will remain in the wilderness. At one time there were SMART people leading American conservatism. William F. Buckley was SMART.
Right wingers may disagree with the Obama agenda, but the man is smart and articulate. They have to find intelligent people to lead them before they have any hope of challenging Obama. Palin is a pinup girl who has already risen past her level of incompetence, and wishes to rise even further. Spare me.
She is moving-on (as she explained in her resignation) before she becomes utterly irrelevant to America.
She had her 15 minutes of fame, plus a few. But she realized that the free-ride was over, and for her to stay relevant she has to “do her own thing”.
So she will join forces with the other right wing star, “Joe the Plumber” and together they will happily take their show on the road, living in America’s political circus side shows, events which will be excitedly attended by brainwashed mental midgets like Alfred1.
So we can add another figure to the pantheon of right wing nuts that are adored by the mentally challenged political fringe: Lyndon Larouche, Ross Perot, Ron Paul, etc.
