Wow…It looks like the harpy at Wonkette wrote another funny article…can I have that time back please?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. In all seriousness Sarah is in need of emotional/mental evaluation. She exhibits the same random, off-the-wall behavior that my Paranoid-Schizophrenic sister-in-law does when she’s not on her meds. I find it hard to believe she got elected to the position she just abandoned under these conditions but it’s very possible that this is a new (2 years or so) condition for her. A person can go on for a long period of time before people take notice that all is not right.
I followed some links and got to her announcement on Alaska.gov. She has the oddest syntax I’ve ever seen. She has a way of constructing sentences that are nearly unparsable. Articles seem to be missing from most of them.
And the way she’s couching her immediate resignation in softer terms… The headline is that she won’t be seeking a second term. Then she sort of slips in that she’s also leaving the job effective (almost) immediately. That is just bizarre.
is this even real?
forget about Palin, she’s nobody.
Both parties will be lucky if anybody even wants them after the
$100-300 trillion derivative bubble pops in a month or two.
-s
Go for it Sarah…sue the bastards…it should be easy to document they violated campaign finance law and support Obama without declaring themselves agents of his campaign.
Publicity stunt.
#5. Alfred1 hates the Constitution. Why do you hate America Alfred1?
Go to her Twitter page.
Does anyone else notice how a giant, semi-transparent Sarah is looking down on Alaska as if she were God? I wonder if she realized the subliminal message she was sending with it.
It’s a good thing that the internet is just a series of tubes, it should be easy to sue.
OK, enough of Sarah Palin, please!
I’m starting to crave Michael Jackson stories.
Ah, but how do you serve “The Internet?”
Please stop the whining.

It is amazing how easily she quits and how thin skinned she is. I can’t understand how she has any supporters after her overreactionary behavior.
Sarah Palin rocks !! She is proving to be even more hilarious then Dan Quayle or George Bush. Live long and prosper Sarah Palin for comedy’s sake.
Wow, I really don’t understand what the heck she is talking about. This is very weird.
The suddenness of the announcement, along with it’s bizarre content and lack of any of the ‘fig leaf’ excuses we’ve grown accustomed to from others in the public sphere (want to spend more time with family- dog- self-fulfillment, etc.) make me think something big is going to break, and soon.
However, this latest threat of lawsuits makes me wonder- has she just plain gone crazy? I mean, I knew she was loopy the first time I heard her talk, but this is a whole new level.
Maybe Al is correct- maybe she should sue everybody she possibly can. Think of the months of comic relief!
Hopefully she’ll take the AIP national and run in ‘12 with Michelle Bachmann. What a winning combination that would be!
I had another hunch today- maybe Sanford paid her to do this. It’s really bumped his looniness off the front page.
Again, I feel sorry for her. She isn’t thin skinned, she just worked herself into a difficult psychological position. Much like what happens when a couple stops working and splits.
Palin’s expectations didn’t match her reality, and she couldn’t continue moving forward.
Also, she lives in a very small place populated by small people. The reality of a country that has 360,000,000 people, and where the powerful elite, that sit on top of those 360 million, are better equipped to crush her and her little ideas than she could have IMAGINED. Had she grown up in New York or Washington DC, she might have had the required life experiences to make her dreams a reality. Thank God she didn’t.
We used to have “Yellow Journalism”, now we have the “Yellow Internet”. Commentators can not debate Palin’s policies or philosophies, they just attack her personally. I can only imagine what they would say if Obama was subjected to the same sort of cooridinated attacks that Palin has to put up with from the liberals and the Democratic strategists.
And Robin, you are lending your support for Palin with which rational specifics?
robin1943
Who would have thought that US politics is a rough sport? Ask John McCain after running against Bush in 2000. Ask Max Cleland after being slimed by Chambliss and Coulter.
The problem for the right and the Republicans is that they have no clue on how to handle the internet yet. It’s one of many things they will have to do to get back in the game.
#18 Robin
Palin has policies?
I thought she was just a vacuous bint parroting the god and guns party line why trying to give imbeciles a woodie by winking at the camera.
Coordinated attacks are the nature of politics. If you cant stand the heat…
I’d still like to have butt secks with her as long as she didn’t talk.
As a Canadian, I often get embarrassed of the shenanigans that go on here. But honestly, watching US politics play out is worse than watching a terrible soap opera. I’m embarrassed for you. You need to take the whole frigging lot of them… every single last politician… and push them out on a barge without a rudder or paddle. Let them start their own country on some tiny Island. Then scour your universities for intelligent leaders that aren’t just pretty faces.

Would you like to share some of those policies and philosophies that she has expressed???
Good luck…

I agree with you, but I think the biggest problem we have is that we keep looking for leaders. Last I heard, the US population is supposed to elect representatives. Maybe if we kept that in mind we wouldn’t have the screwed up mess we do today. After all, “leaders” do what they think is best for us, and then try to get us on board. Representatives should do what we tell them, and nothing else.
The Democratic elite know The economy is going to go down, taking Obama with it. Then Hillary gets elected in 2012 as the woman’s candidate. Oops! You mean there might be a conservative woman candidate in 2012?!? Sic ‘em boys! Hilla the Hun needs a clear running field!
I can only imagine what they would say if Obama was subjected to the same sort of cooridinated attacks
They might say he was a Muslim or a socialist or not born in the USA or something like that…
How many posts and threads are we going to see about Sarah this week?… It was more fun last week debating the Universal Health care issues… lets go back to that and forget about the place we never heard of before last August .. Wasilla Alaksa…
#27, nice!
# 24 If she has no policies then why do so many people hate her so badly including you? If you respond please think before you respond. You guys may not know if but if people aren’t members of your particular hate group you tend to come off sounding like the KKK talking about blacks and Jews only you are talking about Palin. Same kind of hate speach, different target.
To be honest many of the media organizations just might be subject to something or other because of laws passed in the last few decades. This might be more true of broadcast networks than other forms of media. The fact that they were absolutely partisan is something even Obama has joked about. If he thinks they all voted for him I suppose he has his reasons.
It’s only in the last week that we’ve finally had a press conference that didn’t sound like a rally of the I adore Obama fan club and I think there were only two reporters among that bunch of Obama suck-ups.
#23,
I agree. I’ll even arrange for the barge…
Now for the rest.
This article has the real scoop, not the nutters Wonkette.
http://tinyurl.com/politico-on-sarah-palin
Basically, her lawyer states what many lefty blogs have posted as true about Palin are verifiable falsehoods, and now that they have been informed about these falsehoods, should they continue to repeat them, they will be sued for intentional slander.
I would take this seriously if I were them. It’s one thing to reprint something out of feigned ignorance, but something altogether different to be presented factual information and ignore it.
Today, Palin has borrowed a page from Kim Jong Il and said she will sue the internet for even a slight hostile act.
She and Todd are fully ready for all-out confrontation and not allow even 0.001 mm peek into their lives.
#23: “But honestly, watching US politics play out is worse than watching a terrible soap opera. I’m embarrassed for you.”
How do you think WE feel?
Palin was and is a national embarrassment. I saw a perfect five-word description of her before Election Day: George Bush in a skirt.
#28
You’re right, this issue constitutes “real news”. I’m afraid we’re going to see a lot more. Those who can’t stand her can’t help themselves with their love-hate relationship with her. Look at the sometimes funny, but mostly bitter, Maureen Dowd’s tirade in her latest column as an example. Granted, Palin doesn’t support her cause with her use of syntax.
I do sometimes wonder if she were liberal if she’d be given different treatment in the shark tank of politics (likely lauded for her “sense of style” and all of that BS). It doesn’t matter in the end because she’s a non-issue.
Mr. show.
Couldn’t agree more. Must be a slow news week, because Palin ultimately is only as much of an issue as the time we give her.
I always thought McCain proved he’s “Crazy as a March Hare” when he choose her as his running mate.
Palin resigned because she saw the writing on the wall.
Her personal legal bills were too much and would only grow if she remained Governor.
She was slipping in the polls in Alaska. The Legislature was not doing her bidding.
Her sources and the polls told her she had no realistic chance of becoming President, or even V-P. She did not have the support of the party’s top people.
The more she stood on a stage with her children, the more her kids also became sleaze fodder.
She has a book deal that won’t get written by itself (actually it will, but you know what I mean) so she needs time to sit down.
Kid #1, Bristol, is about to have her third little rug rat and Palin doesn’t want to be in the public eye during the pregnancy. Especially when kid #4 doesn’t have Todd’s DNA.
And her last reason for resigning is how her house got built. Yup, there are a lot of questions.
Do I care? Nope. She can whine all she likes, she doesn’t have a leg to stand on if she insists on suing.
“I do sometimes wonder if she were liberal if she’d be given different treatment in the shark tank of politics (likely lauded for her “sense of style” and all of that BS)”
You mean like how Hillary was treated?
Palin is a joke, to me, because she keeps spouting-off about “real” Americans, after having close association with the Alaska Freedom Party.
If that isn’t hypocritical enough for most people, I don’t know what is.
Oiy! This is going to be interesting
She’s got a real perty mouth.
# 38 Then you must think swimming in spiritual sewer is interesting.
Of course many real Americans aren’t anything anyone who doesn’t like sewers would like to spend time with.
The real value of freedom of speech is that gives people the golden opportunity to completely discredit themselves.

I never said that I hated her. In fact I didn’t say anything about her, other than challenging her supporters co comment on what “policies and philosophies” she stands for.
I’m still waiting…
-I can only imagine what they would say if Obama was subjected to the same sort of cooridinated attacks-
-They might say he was a Muslim or a socialist or not born in the USA or something like that…-
But when rightwing nutters said that, the media basically debunked it while reporting the attacks, making sure that it was clear these stories were BS. And the leaders of the Republican party made clear these attacks were ridicuous. The Dems made sure their people repeated the Palin smears on every talk show they could.
They reported the Palin stuff with none of the same sensitivity, none of the factchecking, and when they did it was while the anchors were smirking and rolling their eyes.
Obama’s family was off limits although he was trotting them out just like Palin. Not one word dared be spoken against the Holy Family, while the media did everything but call Bristol a whore and Trig a retard…oh, I forgot, Olberman DID make a play on the word “retarded”.
The media are disgusting and repellent, and as even the whitchlike Helen Thomas has noted, are no longer journalists.
Troublemaker
Palin’s is a social conservative and her political positions are well know. All you have to do is listen to her whole speech on Friday or look up “Political positions of Sarah Palin” on Wikipedia to she where she stands.
If the slut Hilliary Clintous can sue over a documentary that wasn’t favorable to her, then a few law suits over the lies spread about Palin and the Africa and NAFTA, hoax??, would be more than justified. Edieard the Dip should be among the first ones sued out of home and life, post birth abortion since he obviously doesn’t use that space in between its ears.
Whatever……………….
Traaxx
Sarah Palin caught moon walking.
http://news.muckety.com/2009/07/04/sarah-palin-does-the-moonwalk/17641
Why do you idiots care about this woman! What is your problem! I voted to create a new world of politics without this petty banter and personal attacks. Let’s move on to something substantive. This economy is currently on life support. President Obama is extending his hand of friendship everywhere to our previous enemies. Let’s focus on the future not Sarah Palin’s looks and leadership.
#42, disgusted,
… the leaders of the Republican party made clear these attacks were ridicuous. The Dems made sure their people repeated the Palin smears on every talk show they could.
Very easy smear to make. Yup, say the Republican leadership denounced the Obama smears when they are still loudly proclaimed by the de facto Republican leader Boss Limpdick. The only denunciation I recall was when McCain said Obama was a good man and shouldn’t be called a communist.
Now what are the “Palin smears”?
That Trigg is actually Bristol’s? There is enough evidence to support that: Sarah showed no sign of pregnancy, flew from Dallas to Juneau AFTER her water broke, Bristol took a whole year off to be home schooled when her mother is in charge of the public schools in Alaska, … Palin even used Trigg as a prop during several speeches as what a dedicated mother she is.
That her house was built with quid pro benefits with a local contractor? The same contractor who later greatly benefited from a government contract while she was Mayor?
That she, her husband, and her chief aid pressured the top cop in Alaska to fire her ex-brother in law? That she later fired the top cop because he wouldn’t fire the ex?
Her extreme religious, Pentecostal stance? Yes, there is video of her being taken care of by an “African Witch Doctor Evangelist”. She preached abstinence when her own daughter had two kids out of wedlock, while a minor.
That she spent hundreds of thousands on clothes, make-up, and beauticians during her V-P campaign from campaign funds? She then didn’t want to return the clothes? Yup, just a person of the people who shops at a second hand store.
But when rightwing nutters said that, the media basically debunked it while reporting the attacks, making sure that it was clear these stories were BS. And the leaders of the Republican party made clear these attacks were ridicuous.
Then why was it that last night when I was going to bed and I decided to listen to Coast to Coast AM for fun and I caught the end of the Bill Cunningham show before it and they were once again talking about Obama’s birth certificate?
Not one word dared be spoken against the Holy Family, while the media did everything but call Bristol a whore and Trig a retard
It has nothing to do with the fact that Bristol’s mother was a proponent of abstinence-only education and Bristol was counter-evidence of the effectiveness of that. Whereas the Obama kids don’t seem to have done anything newsworthy. No, it was just pure mean-spiritedness…
Ask Sarah about the Villa in Wasilla, and how the same EXACT style custom windows that were used on the sports complex there, were used on her villa. Ask her about the political contributions that these contractors made. Ask her about her husband’s role in this, THEN you will know why there is a pending investigation on all of this, and why she is resigning now, to save a little of her Caribou Barbie butt.
One thing is clear, Palin is on the ‘must destroy’ list. Look at the head lines. Like this one “Insane Sara Palin, late at night on July 4, threatens to sue entire internet, via twitter”. Isn’t this an obvious smear? Insane? By who’s diagnosis, Mr Fusion? Eidiard? Mr Justin?
How about USA Today; “Palins Flameout”. This is clear intent to draw conclusions, not report. It’s the kind of language that is used when you want people to think a certain thing. Usually, when someone steps down or makes a political mistake it’s self minimizing and there’s no smear campaign needed. But a few people like Palin there’s a doubt about whether this action is going to minimize her so the left decides that a smear campaign is warranted, just to make sure.
#50, poor debate,
Say what?
You condemn everyone yet offer nothing as evidence. You claim the US Today article makes conclusions but doesn’t report. First, WHAT EFFEN US TODAY REPORT? You don’t link to one or even tell us which one. Was it an op-ed, a column, under a by-line, or AP?
You made the claim, you supply the evidence. Until then this is just more sour grapes from the “Nailin Palin” crowd.
Anyone looking to Dvorak.org/blog for fair and non-sensationalistic headlines is going to be disappointed. Go back to November and look at all the link-bait headlines about Obama that Dvorak posted.
I went to usa today’s website’s Palin section and didn’t see any story with “palin flameout” as the headline. Where is it?
Oh there it is, on their blog with the full headline, “Our Opinion: Palin’s Flameout” http://blogs.usatoday.com/oped/2009/07/our-opinion-palins-flameout.html
So it isn’t like it isn’t clearly marked as an editorial or anything unless there’s another USA Today story with that headline.
We knew she wasn’t what she claimed to be when we discovered the truth about her support for “the bridge to nowhere.” If that wasn’t enough, we then found out that as mayor of Wasilla, she had hired a lobbying firm and extracted millions of dollars from Washington for her humble little home village.
The “non-politician” turned out to be a politician after all. But now all of that is behind her, and the real reason she is resigning is so she can enter a different competition…
As for the headline on this blog post, she’s probably no more insane than any other person who talks to the creator of the universe. This time, the voice in her head told her to resign. How can I possibly disagree with the wisdom of that?
We will NEVER stop slamming Bush anbd Palin and her retard spawn until they apologize. We cannot just move on when half the population has yet to admit they made a mistake! They must be shamed and insulted until they cry uncle and start working with us.
If we just move on these cretins will just vote for another Bush.
I propose a “Fusion’s Law”…when you constantly resort to insults about someone’s potency instead of insults about their dumb ideas, you lose the argument.
Fusion is acting like the 9-year-old who can’t believe how funny he is and keeps repeating the same playground insult for a week. Except that he’s been doing it for a lot longer.
Rush is easy enough to hack apart on the merist, you just make the left look petty and unimaginative.
I suggest that people stop responding to little Fusion-chan until he comes up with some non-ad-hominem insults.
Maybe next time there is a site update, we could get an “ignore” button.
#51 I”m curious then, seriously. Why is it necessary to treat Palin this way when much more significant opponents of the left have minimized themselves. You’ll hear a lot of people on the right spout “double standard” but I really don’t think that’s it. Why is it necessary to treat only certain people this way?
And please, don’t just say it’s because she deserves it. She never has had power and might not ever.
#57, it’s because she’s so STUPID. She’s borderline retarded and we have to destroy people like this. We have to make their families hate them for even TRYING to get power. We can never let up or other stupid godbeleiving bimbos will keep running for office.
Using her style and speech patterns and family to mock her is fine if it does the job. The ends really are what’s important…don’t go feeling sorry for her, she’d put you in a Jesus Reeducation camp in a heartbeat.
Capiche?
#58
Sounds like you would favor taking some of the stimulus money and building ovens to get rid of people you feel are inferior to your vast elitist intelligence. Another man did that in Germany last century.
This country was built on all people having a right to hold their own ideas and views even if they differ from our own. If your ideas and views are better then they will win out. But the discourse should be carried out in a civil manner instead of this vile personal attacks under taken by so many on the left like yourself.
Now the Rest of the Story
#57, debate,
I’m curious too. Why would you make spurious claims then walk away from them instead of backing them up? Yup, another right wing nut tactic.
*
I couldn’t give two constipated farts about her. It has been the far right wing of the Republican Party, the “fringe element”, that loved her and she played to. This fringe group got their little weenies all exited whenever and where ever she spoke. They would have followed her to the grave because she winked at them. But they are not the moderate, moneyed group of conservatives the Republican Party wants to appeal to. Generally (and I am generalizing) they are the group of religious nutbags and Liebertarians that almost ruined the Republican Party.
The Republican Party leaders tolerated her as she excited the troops. Yet they saw her lack of intellect and compassion. Any national election with her would be detrimental to the party as a whole. She reminded everyone too much of Bush in a time when that legacy is way too toxic. In short, they didn’t see her as a winner.
Palin was just a small time player trying to make in the big league. She couldn’t cut it because she wasn’t the right material. Argue that all you want but it won’t change the fact. Personally I wish she had stayed around as she polarized the electorate into the extreme right wing element and normal people. This also galvanized the center and left to stop the neo-cons and religious nuts.
Doink.
It appears you are doing exactly what you accuse Fusion of doing. Did he touch the wrong nerve?
Since the names are at the beginning of the comment, why not just skip over his if they bother you that much?
As I said back in #26, the Clintonistas are setting up for 2012 to get Hillary in office. Hillary pushed Obama into coming against the Iranian repression — and then came out neutral herself. That will be a future campaign point for her.
Hillary needs the women’s vote to get in in 2012. She’s got to make sure the last thing people remember about Sarah is very negative. Her news media will make Sarah a non-person from now on.
Sarah herself is getting out of the governor’s chair so when the economy collapses none of the fallout can be held against her by Hillary’s media.
Rahm is in charge of Obama’s cabinet — and is a Clintonista. The future back-stabbing will be interesting.
DAVID LETTERMAN’S HATE, ETC. !
David Letterman’s hate is as old as some ancient Hebrew prophets.
Speaking of anti-Semitism, it’s Jerry Falwell and other fundy leaders who’ve gleefully predicted that in the future EVERY nation will be against Israel (an international first?) and that TWO-THIRDS of all Jews will be killed, right?
Wrong! It’s the ancient Hebrew prophet Zechariah who predicted all this in the 13th and 14th chapters of his book! The last prophet, Malachi, explains the reason for this future Holocaust that’ll outdo even Hitler’s by stating that “Judah hath dealt treacherously” and “the Lord will cut off the man that doeth this” and asks “Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother?”
Haven’t evangelicals generally been the best friends of Israel and persons perceived to be Jewish? Then please explain the recent filthy, hate-filled, back-stabbing tirades by David Letterman (and Sandra Bernhard and Kathy Griffin) against a leading evangelical named Sarah Palin, and explain why most Jewish leaders have seemingly condoned Palin’s continuing “crucifixion”!
While David, Sandra, and Kathy are tragically turning comedy into tragedy, they are also helping to speed up and fulfill the Final Holocaust a la Zechariah and Malachi, thus helping to make the Bible even more believable!
