In 1974, Japan had a successful pertussis (whooping cough) vaccination program, with nearly 80% of Japanese children vaccinated. That year only 393 cases of pertussis were reported in the entire country, and there were no deaths from pertussis. I had a similar problem. Somebody at work had Hepatitis B, so I went to the doctor. He said he would give me a Hepatitis B shot but he didn’t recommend it and he listed some of the side effects.

I think “death” was the one that sent me home.
