Who gives a fuck about all this shit LOL
Use what you need, as much as you need.

Want to really go green?
DIE.
You won't waste anything anymore (no matter how much you "save" or "waste" all your life - it is all WASTED, because anyways you'd die in the end hahaha)
Go green NOW and commit suicide! ;)

I wait for the water to get warm before getting in. It's normal use of water. I am not taking a cold shower as the house is already cold enough in the morning as it is. You got to flush the cold water from the hot water pipes. The only way to reduce this time is to move the hot water heater closer to the shower and that is usually not feasible.

The only green I am interested in saving is the kind I fold up and put in my wallet. I signed a lease for an apartment across the street from work when gas was almost $4 a gallon, I walk to work, I turn off the lights when I am not in a room, and don't have an air conditioner because it might drive up my electric bill. I did all those things to save money, but they all could be considered green if I worried about such things.

You would be better off letting that water run. The AWWA “American water works association” Recommend you run the tap five minutes for drinking. A lot of dissolved solids and chemical build up occurs when you do not run your water for a while. That bottle of beer you are drinking took a lot more water to make then you are going to save by turning off the water while you brush. Thirty years in the water industry says I am right. Now I got to get back to work making more water.

the quote proper is:

as some have inferred..
the problem in part is the educational system.

Isn't our educational system grand.

Yeah, our kid are educated about global warming.

What good is that doing?

Maybe if they had to pay for all that wasted energy/water, ... uhm ....?

#4
It's called a clue...you know, the thing the Democrats have yet to find.

#7
I'm not Gen-Y and I do. My hot water takes a good minute or two to kick in.

I honestly don't see that Gen-Y is any more or less hypocritical with respect to "save the world" that previous generations were with "save the whales." However, I definitely see a lack of motivation or tolerance for real work in Gen-Y. I'm guessing it will take another ten years or so for them to realize that living in their mother's basement sucks and to get out requires real work.

Well, no wonder. Look at their examples:

Al Gore - his concern for the environment ends with is fleet of SUVs, private jets and mansion which consumes as much power as an entire middle class neighborhood. BTW: don't forget his wealth came from the oil industry - his father was CEO of occidental petroleum.

Obama - sold his Dodge Magnum with the Hemi engine as his run for the presidency got underway. Wouldn't have looked good once he decided to market himself as "green".

Everyone in the Congress who voted for "Cap and Trades" - then voted to buy a bunch of new jets to accomodate the increasing number of "junket" trips which members of congress are taking.

Gen-Y - just following their leaders examples - preach one thing for everyone else , do another for themselves.

Of course, if GenY stop wasting water makes circa no difference what so ever. Or any other generation, for that matter.

90% of our water is used by agriculture and industry.
