I have an explanation about one potential side effect of Cymbalta (as a drummer, I appreciate the silly name). One reason anti-depressants have the potential side effect of suicide is that some people who have suicidal ideas get enough energy (i.e., get less depressed) to commit the act. I know it sounds silly but that’s essentially the reason. As with any mental problem, it requires constant monitoring to get the medication dosage levels right and it MUST be accompanied by therapy. In many cases it is the primary physician who administers drugs like these. Hopefully in those cases the doctor refers the patient to a counselor but who knows.

All in all, in many cases the side effects of pharmaceuticals are worse than the benefit but it’s the best science has to offer for now. Cold comfort I know to those who have problems or know someone who does.

As anything in life there’s the wrong way to do it and the right way. Somewhere along the road, we lost respect and reverence for knowledge.Centuries of parlamentar democracies engrained in the populace’s mind that “we the people” have control. The People feels itself empowered to do anything. Often auto medication.
Well… “we the people” have absolutitely the right to do anything, but do we have preparation?
Often not.
We the people should be treading the knowledge path…

I got lucky yesterday and figured I’d read the show notes for NO { Swine Flu } Agenda and quickly seen I could pass it once again.
Come on John, Curry must really be paying you a bundle to go through this week after week. You know there are other, more interesting stories out there, it’s time to pass on this podcast, let Curry set in his Amsterdam digs and fear the end. I really don’t want to demean the guy, but for a program that spouts NO AGENDA, it couldn’t be farther from the truth.
