As long as piracy is profitable you will have pirates.

It the world’s navies are two sorry to stop it then the merchant shippers have to go back to supplying their own armed forces as a cost to doing business and the buyer will pay for it.

Obviously his firm’s training helped but he nor his firm didn’t cause the economic issues of Somalia to make Somali’s pirates. It’s the never ending example of how good things can turn bad when used for the wrong reasons. History is rife with examples.

Kind of how we train and arm people in other countries, only to later invade the same country and kill the same people years later.

    Kind of like Iraq.

  4. harold says:

We trained and armed the dreaded Taliban who we are now fighting. Oh, the irony of it all!

Analogous to funding Public education only to fuel Marxist revolutionaries who, using Saul Alinsky tactics, use the language of conservatives, to fool a center right country into putting them in power, and they then bring about socialistic change, the destruction of the very economy that funded their education.

  7. waltersobchack says:

#6 I’ll take the commie Saul Alinsky any day over the fascists that are the right wing party today. How did socialism destroy the economy? The concentration of wealth at the top today is unsurpassed than at any point in American history and look at the mess that has landed us.

While nobody is perfect at least Alinsky organized poor people and helped those in need. I will take a man like Alinksy who was of and for the people. Why is the right so frightened of poor people? Why is the right so intent on eroding the lower and middle class?

Men who want to keep the people down and in fear of terror like Bush and Cheney are nothing more than pure evil. What is the terror level color today? Why should I be afraid of dying of terror, which is less likely than getting struck by lightning? Why doesn’t the right come up with a color coded lightning meter?

The right wing of today is a fascist and racist party who cares about nothing more than the control of ideas and beliefs through censorship, and wants to control the masses through fear. Why else would the right not let Obama tell school children to study hard and stay in school. Any other president in history would have been allowed to give the same exact speech to all school kids.

Traditionally the right was for small government and a hands off attitude regarding the people. Today they want to legislate every last thing I am allowed to do in the privacy of my own home. The right has lost its message and is simply a fringe full of nut-case birthers such as yourself.

The republicans today are so crazy its almost surreal.

    Update –

Western BLOGS profit from Western firms which profit from Somalia’s piracy problem (after training them to be pirates?)

Ah, so education is the problem? What should we do, ban all schools? Or only Public schools, so the poor will be ignorant and always poor, leading to lots of cheap labor for the plutocrats…

“The tax which will be paid for [the] purpose [of education] is not more than the thousandth part of what will be paid to kings, priests and nobles who will rise up among us if we leave the people in ignorance.” –Thomas Jefferson to George Wythe, 1786.
