I hate these type of shows, but gotta admit she’s good and her story makes me smile.

What’s with the link to plastic surgery? She obviously hasn’t had any.

Definitely a face for radio! The recorded version on youtube is better, really impressed me. Thi was a good performance for her though

Too bad they put her on after Shakira did an ultra sexy number, talk about letting the air outta the tires. She’s got voice, but it’s behind that face.

I reckon Ike from South Park was right. You have to go to Somalia and become a pirate just to get away from Susan Boyle

Robin Williams slated to portray her in a movie.

Anyone expert enough out there to opine on what makes Susan Boyle so good? She has range, and that warble thing during each note. I’m thinking its the way she simply pronounces the words or maybe how she phrases the words?

Many of my favorite “singers” got ruined for me when it was pointed out they only have a three note range and are actually just talking their way thru a song.

Bonus==what is the difference between singing and that talking thing?

Pretty simple really… she has a great voice, sings on pitch and keeps the beat.

# 11 bobbo, the persecuted eugenicist said, on September 17th, 2009 at 3:30 pm

I think I have it:

Good Singer: on pitch, keeps beat, good voice,

but Susam is especially good because she is: on pitch, keeps beat, and has a Great voice.

That is pretty simple. Don’t know how I missed it.

Simply wonderful! Not much more to say…..

So she can sing on pitch, keep beat, and has a pleasant voice. I’ve heard many a singer as good or better in many a small club that never went anywhere. That isn’t to take away from Boyle’s talent. Many of us know of someone with better guitar licks than Hendricks or Clapman that ended up working in a factory in order to feed a family.

She got her fame solely because she appeared on a talent show and surprised everyone. She came on as a frumpy, not very impressive, older woman with a beautiful voice.

In my opinion, this video is as good as it is only because of the professional coaching she’s received. And yes, that does make a difference.

BUT, I do wish her the best. Does Pirate Bay have her album yet? Anyone here going to get a copy?

You want to hear and see someone who can’t sing or dance watch Lady Gaga.

She’s 23 or so and looks in her forties. More like Lady Gag Me.

#14: Hendricks and Clapman are better known as Hendrix and Clapton.

Just caught Leonard Cohen on his PBS special. Turned it off after 3 songs. He’s got that “talking” thing turned on to the Max. No “show.” Glad I got all his stuff when he had a bit more musicality to it.

If you like his music, read his book: “Beautiful Losers.” Its all about religion, belief, obsession, failure.

Good stuff. Make it a book end with Naked Lunch.

#17, will blake,

I posted the generic versions.
