The Australian Vaccination Network lobby group says more testing of the swine flu vaccine needs to be done before it is given to the public.
Australian Vaccination Network president Meryl Dorey has previously urged the Government not to make vaccinations compulsory for children. She says the H1N1 vaccine could prove more dangerous than the disease itself.
“If we find that swine flu is milder than normal seasonal flu, and we have normal seasonal flu every year, and all the government does is simply offer a vaccine for those who want it, why should this flu be treated any differently,” Ms Dorey said.
The “Australian Vaccination Network” is a group of anti-vaccination kooks bent on stopping ALL vaccinations. They are responsible for lowering herd immunity to a number of childhood diseases, resulting in outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases, including at least one 18 month old baby’s death. Any opinion they express on the swine flu vaccine is a joke and is made with a clear anti-science, anti-reason agenda.
There is no indication that the H1N1 vaccine would be any less safe and effective than the regular seasonal flu vaccine which saves thousands of lives every year!

To anyone with more expertise than I who have none: I take the issue this way:
Vaccines will KILL a few people who have susceptibility to the vaccine for whatever reason. Just for example, lets say in the USA, 5000 such people exist. If they take the Vaccine, they will die. If they don’t, they will live.
If all you focus on is the people who die from the vaccine, 5000 is a big number.
Now, the balance here is that if USA does not take the vaccine, then 3 million could die==or more as the more the virus incubates and exists in the population, the more it mutates.
With a full vaccination program, only 90K should die this year–again, assuming it doesn’t further mutate.
Is that the “model” the CDC is working with or have I missed it completely?
In conclusion, any study/link that only looks to the danger of the vaccine has missed the point. All such studies have to compare the two risks. Only then can a valid judgment be made.
In a vacuum, knowing nothing more, I “believe” in science. The evidence against vaccines would have to be quite strong, detailed, and balanced. Not a “maybe” from an as yet to be developed vaccine from an unknown group reputed to be “anti-vaccine.”
I hope thats not just me, because the totalitarian point is that the more people who get flu, the more likely it is to mutate making it more dangerous to everyone else who would have been safe otherwise.
But yea, in the end, the little nasties are going to wipe us out. I hope it doesn’t go above 90%.
