#20 And you know is photoshop'd because you'd have no signal if you hold the toy that way. You know, another great design from the mac team. http://tinyurl.com/y8lwlyc

Very pretty, but someone needs to show her how to hold a phone properly or she might end up on PhotoshopDisasters.

#12 That's the point. You need your toy to be connected either wirelessly or synched. That's something any phone does. They must know each other in order to do anything. No way of actual collaboration with others unless you have that connection established with your toy.

I give you one thing though. It's quite brave of you to go against god steve's orders that your toy is for noncommercial use & you're trying to do actual work (I'm taking your word here) with a toy, aside for being quite cute in doing so. It must be like watching a little child with a toy drill emulate his dad drilling a hole.

#14 I though it was understood that mac owners are mostly braindead.

I will leave the fan boys and their bashers to have it out.

I will merely note that I thought Apple was trying to market the iphone to businesses in which case claiming that they weren't is not merely stupid; it's stooopid. A local term for doing something seriously brain dead.

I suspect that marketing and legal haven't been talking to each other again and the peon that answered the phone is completely out of the information loop.

OK... from the comments, no one read the article. True, the way the blurb is written, the story makes no sense. Who calls a vendor for tax advice?

The issue has to do with the way Apple doesn't handle VAT correctly.

The problem is that Apple doesn't report the VAT (a sales tax) collected on purchases. The receipt was supposed to have the VAT as a line item. This allows consumers to track how much VAT they have paid for tax reasons. He needs a receipt with the VAT listed to qualify for a tax deduction for VAT he paid.

What is weird is that Apple hasn't been attacked by the tax department for failure to follow the law. In all countries that I've lived in, VAT collected has to be a line item on the receipt.

So it really is Apple's bad.

#9 I have no problem moving files back and forth from itouch to computer wirelessly or connected. I have apps that sync and can be edited. Big deal.

You said shipped, but we all know that it doesn't ship that way anymore. I said it comes with copy & paste out of the box and we all know it does.

Don't need to rationalize anything I know it's a great toy.

What an idiot. I always call Infiniti to to get mileage deduction advice and Microsoft to write off my MDSN subscription.

Oh, and yes, i am in business and have said iPhone. Oh and I do business on it.

#6 Reading comprehension, have you?

It has it now, after 3 software versions. It didn't when it shipped (came out), or are you gonna tell us this is a lie?

But hey, whatever gets you thru the night. Keep rationalizing what a great toy you have.

#4 Well, to tell you the truth, I'm doing quite OK. Doing things that blow people's mind and in complete disbelief that what I have in my hand is a phone. Hope you can just install a file from your oy!phone to another computer or take a file from a computer, without the need of e-mail or synch, and use it/edit it on your oy!Phone. Let me know when that happens. I'll be waiting here in my comfy seat.

I bet people using Android are doing these kinds of things too. Real work.

But again, who in their right mind buys an oy!Phone for anything other than playing around. It's like buying a Nintendo DS and complaining you cannot send a mms

#5, Alphie,

Valid response.

Apple though should have declined to offer an answer at all and referred him to a tax specialist.

Instead they denied their product was actually for the use it is advertised for. I can see some lawyer, especially in the EU using this in an anti-trust case against Apple.
