After reports yesterday about an ad for AC: 360 that apparently had a woman touting the merits of the show while describing herself as a “lifelong Democrat,” we picked up the story as an apparent shift in strategy for CNN.

CNN tells us the promo had audio dubbed in stereo, rather than a mono track. The spot has been remixed and is now more clear.

So what does the ad really say? Well for a 30 second spot, it’s actually rather complicated. A woman’s voice and a man’s voice are speaking simultaneously throughout much of the ad. While the woman says, “I’m a lifelong Democrat,” a man is saying, “I’m a lifelong Republican.” As it continues, there is more overlapping audio. She says, “The issue that matters most to me is the economy,” while he is saying, “The issue that matters most to me is national security.”

    AC:180 is more like it.

The Borg are apparently a big CNN demographic.

  3. Pete says:

I don’t think they screwed up the audio. I think they meant it to come out that way. Interesting idea, poor execution, leaving the listener more confused than anything. But what does this have to do with left wing bias? Sure, CNN is biased left. This is not news.

We have the most corrupt & incompetent Congress and President ever, and they fact check Saturday Night Live skits…

    Pathetic…

And now an important message from the Establishment Media

    Mm, mmm, mm!
    Barack Hussein Obama

He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
    Mmm, mmm, mm!
    Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must be fair today
    Equal work means equal pay
    Mmm, mmm, mm!
    Barack Hussein Obama

As far as war mongering is concerned, Fox, CNN, MSNBC all agree. Left or right, the newsmedia is reading from the same script regarding the “threat” Iran is. Newsflash! Iran isn’t a threat.

From CNN during the liberation of Kuwait. Those CNN reporters were so brave, facing imminent threat from Saddam’s missile attacks. Wait, wut? Sound Stage?

So the story here is that there is no story? Great post.

  7. Alfred1 says:

There is some good news out there…Murdock might buy NBC…

Reinforcing that there are only two choices.

    Nothing to see here…

  10. Rick Cain says:

I have a hard time believing any major news agency is left leaning. They all seem to sniff the white house’s butt, just to varying degrees.
Fox news isn’t the exception either, it sniffs the white house’s butt when there’s a republican there, and sniffs rush limbaugh’s butt when there’s a democrat in office.

  11. jccalhoun says:

I’ve said it before: listen to Democracy Now! for a week and learn what real leftist news sounds like. For being such a godless, communist, socialist, muslim, far-left, radical, and whatever else people call the president, Democracy Now! doesn’t have many nice things to say about him…

  12. Glenn E. says:

People keep after me to get cable again. And I keep seeing network blunders like these as good reasons NOT to. If I’m gonna be lied to by the mainstream media. Why on earth should I help them, by paying for it? I can be lied to by free broadcast Tv, and not have to pay a cent for it. Plus, if they lie too much, they could lose their viewer ratings. So they’re more cautious about lying. But cable networks have a captive audience, who have already paid in advance to be lied to. Some with multi year subscription contracts. And the cable networks probably think that lying more, makes them more entertaining than being truthful, which is boring.

  13. Dallas says:

The audio tracks are still rather accurate.

Note the republican lives in fear and the democrat concerned about the economy.

  14. Alfred1 says:

Watching that commercial raised the implication they will now report news without the pro Obama spin….

Imagine they report the rising unemployment…without spinning how good it is for the unemployed to have more time with their families…or how the loss of jobs is less than the month before…or etc…

And report it as they did under President Bush…how horrible it is and what is the Government doing about it…24/7.

#14 You beat Fido today for the extra ration. Congrats!

  16. Alfred1 says:

#14 Your inference reveals only how twisted you folks on the left are…

Upon fantasy, you build your world view, and then enact left loon programs to address problems in it, without letting real facts interfere…

Just like Obama…rather than assist small business to create jobs…he spends his time bankrupting the treasury giving billions to wall street millionaires, and proposing massive tax increases and regulation that will only serve to kill small businesses, and ruin the consumers ability to boost the economy by spending on goods…

Rush Limbaugh (and others) believe its purposeful…that everyone with a grain of brain realizes Democratic programs will keep our economy small…that left loons want it that way…to lessen our “carbon footprint” and restore equality with third world nations…bring us down to their level…for justice…for fairness…we must not consume resources beyond the percentage of our population.

  17. Timuchin says:

I guess this is an effort to marginalize the liberal and moderate Democrats. They are trying to polarize the debate like they did with abortion.

It will backfire big time when the first Muslim bomb goes off in this country.

  18. Dallas says:

#17 Let me see. It looks like you just built your own fantasy world with your usual diatribe.
Note we’re not laughing with you, we’re laughing at you.

I was merely stating a simple fact with the audio – the republican lives in fear and the democrat was concerned about the economy. Why do the facts disturb you?

I’ve concluded the length of your lathered diatribe is directly proportional to facts that undermine your bizarre views.

  19. Alfred1 says:

#19 Incorrect, Global warming, cap & trade, Health care…NOT JOBS, most of which are created by small business that will be diminished or destroyed by what Democrats ARE concerned with, raising taxes on everything they can, especially on small business.

The caricature of Republicans as warmongers…conflicts with history…Vietnam, Korea, and many others, were Democratic Wars…and Obama owns both Iraq and Afghanistan now…

I agreed with Pat Buchannan (I voted for him) and Ron Paul (wanted to vote for him), Republicans, that war was not the answer.

The commercial was just another left spin job against the Republican party…which the media succeeded in corrupting with statism…under the guise of moderation…but we are taking our party back…conservatives will rule in it…or it will die the death and be replaced.
