I’m keener on the straight 6 they used to put in their ‘F’ trucks. That was a honey of a well balanced motor.
It looks like you have a lot of fun with cameras!
Check out this “new” 1934 for coupe from Ford, awesome:

I can hear that rumbling growl in my head right now. Not the engine that is, but the sound of enviro-wackos soiling themselves with rage.
#3, Ed: Nice link. I wouldn’t buy one (even if it were available, or even if I could afford it), but it sure is sweet!
#4 – Eat shit and die.
Thanks for your brilliantly insightful comment #6. I would have thought the least you could do is point me to a bunch of hockey stick graphs hosted on Al Gore funded websites. Your global warming scam is falling apart and it doesn’t feel good, huh?
I’m keener on the straight 6 they used to put in their ‘F’ trucks. That was a honey of a well balanced motor.
As car and driver puts it, the straight-6 is “God’s own engine”. They are ridiculously smooth and capable of huge amounts of power (e.g. Nissan RB25/26 family).
If only they could make it SOUND like a V8. The sexiest sound in the world is a carbureted V8 with a hot cam and steel tube headers idling at a stoplight.
Try as I might, I can’t snark this.
Lovely.
I don’t get it… Yea, it’s a flathead v8. So?
I’ve been sort of luke warm on the pic of the day theme, but this one is beautiful! I especially like the reflection in the background on the door of the (55 Chevy?) Nice shot. Was this from the Riddell show in PA?
Yeah it was from the Riddell show.somne nice cars.
Wow! Two one-barrel carbs. Cool!
10. Here’s what you’re missing: This (gasoline) engine is a beautiful example of human achievement …and the environmentalists are working overtime to take away the freedom of movement that such a machine provides.
Soon to be banned, or at least heavily taxed.
#8 the wheeze of a V8 huffed with a 8-71 is even sexier
Sweeeeeeet!!!
I had a ’47 “Coach” in High School!
And, I agree with “StoopidFlanders”! (You tell ‘em, guy!)
#10: you’re not a gearhead, are ya.
I wish I had that in my present Ford. Changing a head gasket would be a helluva lot easier with that flathead!
If you wanna see real cars with real V8′s V10′s and V12′s then you gotta go to Europe. They really know how to make great cars. Americans lost their talent in cars a long time ago…let the flames begin.
And a GENERATOR!
