I’m personally waiting for the cellphone that works like a Star Trek Tricorder. I can’t see why that’s not possible. The current models already emit enough energy to do some of those remote analyzing features. At least on earth. If not the cellphone itself. Then the cell towers could bombard the choose target with enough EM to see thru it, determine its mass, or diagnose its health. What the purity of your gold jewelry? There’s an App for that. Is your leg broken? There’s an App for that too. Never mind playing Tetris games, or taking candid underwear shots. I wanna scan stuff! So where’s my Tricoder Phone?

“Software patents under attack”, by who?! I’ll bet it’s by whoever has the most lawyers. If such laws benefit the super rich and powerful, they’re vehemently defended. But the second they become an inconvenience to the super rich and powerful, the very same laws are vehemently disputed. Commerce Laws are many about protecting the interests of monopolies. Their only applicable to the little guy’s business, at the discretion of the monopolies. In other words, you and I can use them, only until some big corporation takes notice it’s not able to profit from your idea.

I’m sure it’s Microsoft attacking these software patents. Either to reduce its royalty costs to other patent holders. Or to mess with the Open Source software provisions. It’s not like the little guys have got a snowball’s chance of being heard in court.

I thought that it was just the finance branch of GM (GMAC) that filed bankruptcy. But my local GM dealer’s Parts and Service department closed shop, giving the bankruptcy as their excuse. It looks as though they’re still selling their cars. So I guess it’s good that we didn’t pay for more than a year of their Service coverage. Or we’d have been screwed out of a couple thousand dollars. Imagine if Bestbuys did this. “We’re now under partial bankruptcy protection. So the extended warranty service plan we sold you is void. But we’ll sell you a new Big Screen Tv.”

I’m a little surprised that Apple hasn’t sued Verizon for it “We have a Map for that” Tv ads. Which sounds a lot like Apple’s iPhone “…App for that” Tv ads. The Verizon ad “Maps” are small graphics supposedly showing how much more of the country their cell towers cover, versus AT&T. But I don’t know what these maps are actually based on. The number of towers, or how much area they effectively cover. Perhaps AT&T’s towers are more powerful, so they don’t need as many as Verizon has. Maybe not. Who knows? And who really cares if Verizon covers more desert than AT&T? Wow! Look at Arizona, all in red. That must be where John McCain lives.

Come on Apple, sue em! “Map for that” indeed.

I got a txt copy of Mein Kampf, so f’n what!? I’ve even read some of it. Adolph Hitler was a figure of historical interest. If you want to understand the man this is first hand material. Americans just love to argue about political correctness. If Charles Manson wrote a book I’d read it, doesn’t mean I approve of what he did, just means I would find it interesting trying to understand him. Censorship needs to be acted against as soon as it rears it’s ugly head.
