I think it's funny as hell. They've got the US by the balls, so why should they show any shame or humility. Don't expect a political solution to this one. It's patently obvious that these are the guys in control. Maybe every US citizen should demand a job contract, with health, and education benefits.

Blame the voter. We keep electing rich people to congress, making the assumption that the wealthy would care about the poor and middle class.

This twisted logic of course is how we got here. If we elected a continual stream of populists there wouldn't be a problem, as congressmen would be farmed out so often that none lasted long enough to be corrupted by the D.C. environment.

Two wrongs don't make a right as it were. The bankers give out bonuses based on production of the individual, not necessarily the company. Their fault for not taking that aspect into consideration. Then when it goes to hell they scream give us money or the economic world ends. The government gives money to solve the "crisis" but fails to apply stipulations to the money. oops. If I were the employee and the contract I had said I get a bonus then yep I would take the bonus, and I would fight to make the company pay me if they tried to renege. Right? not particularly but I gotta look out for me and mine. Next time read the fine print.

#2 people have (last year) and didn't help? nope. Doesn't matter who's in the white house, or who has majority control at Capitol hill. Either way we will end up with "big government" one form or another.

Conservatives like to talk about deregulation and less government, but the truth is big business LIKES big government. There's a big difference between what defines "big government" as.

Some see it as more draconian laws and regulations to protect national security at the risk of personal freedom (this is what we have now.)

Other people see it as large socialized programs being created and ran by government bureaucrats (what we are about to get.)

So it really doesn't matter who's in office, incumbents or freshmen. We can't vote out all the lobbyists hanging out at the capital giving away handjobs.

Banks, who have returned everything to the Govt. should be able to give bonuses as they please. Banks who are still owned in part by bailout money should be regulated until they return it. Very simple.

ok so if they paid back their bailout money, and so quickly, what was the point of giving it to them? Are they paying any interest back? chances are it wasn't "their money" they used to pay back their bail out money.
