Hey Dell, remember all those shitty support calls? Non cancellable orders? Huge restocking fees? Paybacks a bitch, huh?

I tried out E-Harmony looking for an athletic, tall, 35 year old black man and I used EHTECH for the “fat” discount and I ended up with this fat, old geezer:

Firefox on the PS3 would be great, assuming that the Flash plugin will work. Their current browser is terrible. I started using that new Netflix streaming movies service on the PS3 this week, and it seems OK.

Chrome OS. Runs inside IE9 soon ;-)

    .
From what I hear, it seems to work well for people with a good high speed internet connection (>500kbps for SD video). Where I live (in the middle of nowhere) the RF link, medium speed internet connection I have is only 300k. The Netflix service on the PS3 will only buffer a few minutes of video (even if left paused for an hour!). So It will play a few minutes of the movie and then buffer for a few minutes.
My options are rather limited where I am (no cable, no phone line) so it is this, cellular modem (spotty reception) or satellite. The service I have was only $35/month when I got it 4 years ago which was much cheaper than the satellite options available at the time.
Probably time to re-look at the satellite option.

Hey John! Don’t go messing with the inventor of the internet, he knows what he’s talking about.

I don’t know who’s worse, this Gore guy in his get richer quick attempt or the sheeple that follows him… supercomputers a killer app, geez!

  10. B.Dog says:

    Steve #5,

Yeah. I’ve heard about the connect speed issues with the PS3 streaming. I’d like to also mention that even with the same connection at 1500 to 2800 kbps I find half of the movies have unacceptable quality. I’ll watch that stuff on DVD, but some stuff is good enough over the webtubes.

  11. pedro says:

#10 My ps3 suddenly developed these streaming issues you’re talking about. It was working very well until a month or so ago, not really sure what happened since I can watch streamed content on any machine at home.

Pedro, I figured you as an XBox guy.

#12 Same mistake as those who label me repug. Not because I rather use a win pc than a mac does it mean that I blindly rationalize MS. Unlike the blind lefty loons here that defend their masters for an extra ration.

  14. Egon Ruuda says:

Sony didnt do SHIT. WE PORTED IT! They just are going to ditribute it. So in other words, they did NO more than any distros that includes it. And its not even full yet, its more like Mozilla fennec(tm). But im glad they do, but the wording of this *insert hot new kids lingo here* is awful. Please do not destroy firefox name just because fennec runs on ps3.
You can actually run firefox (yeah the full version) on a ps3 if you run linux on it.

Disclaimers: Yes they did do som stuff: They compiled it, They distributed it, and they made money (hopefully) from it.

PS: Yes sony is very good so far in use of GPL code. Just email them and youll get a place to either get it or buy it (if you need a cd)
