“Japanese man marries video game character”
Dang!
Those people who warned us that this kind of thing would happen next if we started legalizing gay marriage were right.
Dang!

"Japanese man marries video game character". Hmm. "Idoru", by William Gibson. In part, virtual characters continue to get more and more realistic until eventually they'll actually become part of some people's reality. Fan Clubs, personal appearances, magazines, etc. We've seen some of it already.

#2, sony screwed the pooch? what planet are you living on? Sony charged $600 a console when the PS3 came out and it still sold as fast as the xbox360 its first year. Now there are almost an equal number of owners of the two platforms even though the Xbox360 came out a year earlier and was way cheaper. ID software's new game might be on three DVD's on the xbox360 complete with swapping (they are trying to compress textures and data to get it down to two). No such problems on the PS3 because of the Blu-ray drive. Xbox360 machines had a design flaw until at least a year and a half into its lifetime. All those machines all have the same flaw that cause them to eventually overheat. Sony is also using a scalable architecture which means the PS4 could have similar hardware to the PS3 just more cores which could mean a much shorter learning curve for developers during the next generation.

#2 Sorry, disc based media is still less compressed than streamed HD. The different shows, just like the difference between bluray & directv hd

Um, wasn't there a tech-5 snippet a couple of weeks ago about the PS3 outselling the Xbox 360?

Either way, its pretty damn clear that Sony screwed the pooch with the PS3, all for the sake of winning the HD War against Toshiba, which is now a hollow victory. I tried my first HD movie rental via the 360/zune service last night and had a great experience. The movie looked great and began streaming instantly. So long disk-based media.

So who did this idiot marry, Princess Peach? Doesn't some kind of copyright law apply to prevent marrying fictional characters. If Disney won't allow Day Care centers to paint their copyrighted characters on their walls. (So perhaps the little toddlers can have a more pleasant experience) Then how can adult use a game character in a marriage ceremony? Which I'm almost certain, somebody profited from performing. You can use the Happy Birthday for anything that makes anyone money, without paying a royalty. So did this Japanese guy pay out a one time use fee? Seems even dumber, the more I think about it. Maybe this will become the next lame reality Tv show, on FOX! "Who Will Marry A Video Game Character?" Good for either gender.
