  1. Olo Baggins of Bywater says:

deowll…if you can name a president since JFK who gave speeches without a teleprompter, I’ll send you a pack of unopened gum.

And FWIW, I betcha quite a few DU participants could wipe the floor with Palin in a current events and past events debate. Have you ever heard her discuss an event and how/why it happened? She’s all about some vague ideals, and nothing else. Nothing else!

MikeN, you’ve been told this before: it’s not fear of her, it’s pity and derision for the people who think she could be their leader. Wake up, she’s an empty head.

  2. The Monster's Lawyer says:

So far she’s my favorite Republican candidate.

  3. Dallas says:

Weird but I kinda want to see her take questions from members of the British Parliament.

  4. Howard Beale says:

    #42 Dallas

“Kinky” said in my best Harvey Korman as Hedley Lamarr voice

  5. Dallas says:

    #43 Kinky indeed. :-)

A full fetish is her in a debate with William F Buckley on pretty much anything!

It would be like Gomer Pyle in a face off with George Patton.

  6. smartalix says:

Why do you right-wing idiots keep confusing derision for fear? Don’t you guys own dictionaries? I can easily guess most haven’t taken rhetoric classes, so some stupidity about the meaning of language can be assumed.

So, for the cheap seats Disgust is not fear. Derision is not fear. Mocking someone is not fearing them. Thinking someone is a dangerous
pedagog fearmongering disingenuous (a tad inappropriate because you truly should understand a situation you are being disingenuous about) empty suit is not fear.

Thinking that Palin would actually hold any kind of real power in the future does invoke fear, but more because I would fear any incompetent person in such a position.

Keep pushing Palin, I like to be reminded of wht the Right truly stands for.

  7. Dallas says:

#45 You’re missing an important point.

Conservatives WANT to believe it’s a discussion about fear of Palin. They know very well Palin is a buffoon.

The last thing they want to do is debate if she is a buffoon or not. It puts them in a defensive position because it’s a given that she is.

Therefore, the objective is to “move” the debate to fear of Palin. Get it?
