Actually, what is needed is something similar to the “Giant Deodorant Guns” in the next post to sanitize the rabid repugs that have simply gone over the edge. This movement is the ruination of America. These tea baggers, who are nothing more than the Klan in better clothes, smell to high heaven, they’re rotten, and they’re destroying Democracy. When Palin asks about your “freedoms” she’s really asking if you elitist bastards have maintained and want to regain your superiority over the niggers.
Here’s where the weak attempt goes wrong. It has nothing to do with testicles. It’s a problem with a part of the anatomy between the ears.
Think supermajority. Too many syllables maybe? Then go back to Hope, and blaming teabaggers, blaming Palin, blaming the bogey man, blaming enemies of the party who must be rounded up and lynched (in a good way) for daring to oppose edicts from the leader.
dusanmal said, Nothing to do with bipartisanship but with so extreme Left agenda that even many loyal Dem’s couldn’t sign on it.
I never know whether to laugh or sigh when people write that anything Obama has said or done if “extreme Left.” It just shows how “extreme Right” the people that write those things actually are.
No the democrats have not grown a pair. They already had them. As do the republicans. It is the item just above the pair that gets all excited when the corporations call.
Both sides are not working for the citizen of the republic. (And Ed we never had democracy, please put away the dream world made by schoolhouse rock) Both sides are working for those that give them the perks and financing to remain plutocrats.
The wealthy have been the dominate force in the republic since it began. Now the gap is so vast between them and the regular masses, that they feel no empathy and cannot identify in their own lives with us. They can say it speeches, but that is spin. They cannot feel it in their own lives. Lives where if they taste bologna it is because they are eating the high-end beef deli style on purpose, not the cheap chicken/pork stuff out of need.
They hear stats from underlings about poor, hungry, needy but they don’t know what that really is. They are as detached about the reality of most citizens like we would be able to relate to an amoeba. They have no clue.
That is why we have a double digit unemployment. That is why we have a crumbling infrastructure, that is why we have out of control cars, that is why we have debt that threaten our retirement, mortgage foreclosures, etc, etc.
They do not have those things. They have homes, food, expensive European cars, tailored suits, retirement funds, pensions, security teams and all the universal healthcare they and their families will need.
Neither side is on your side. Not unless you are worth more than 1 million dollars in investments, savings, real estate and income. I know I am not worth that. And I don’t think really that voices opinion on this blog is in this boat, save John.
If I am mistaken then, shouldn’t you be watching your portfolio instead of being with us? Maybe a nice game of squash with Reginald or out on the links with your investment advisor and the next door neighbour that made his money by selling untested herbal supplements to people with the promise it grows hair, cleans the liver and makes their wangers hard?
These people are NOT your friends. allies or servants. They are rich people getting richer by keeping their thumb on you. By controlling you. By patronising you. You work for them so they don’t have to.
Oh sure just what we need, a victory dance. Seems to me that would just fan the flames of division. I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not but the more divisive our leaders are, the longer it takes them to get anything done.
I give Obama a lot of credit for getting a health care bill passed.
However, only if the economy surged to unseen levels would the Democrats stand to fare well in the 2010 elections.
Reasons …
1) The Democrats hold so many seats. It is not easy to defend a supermajority.
2) Well, the old “it’s the economy, stupid” wisdom of George Carville and our economy sucks.
Obama is a very likeable guy and managed to get done the key item on the agenda of his election.
Defending the Democratic supermajority is going to be virtually impossible.
The main thing going for the Democrats is how low the Republicans have fallen with the like of the teabaggers and other obstructionists not really presenting an agenda that is going to appeal beyond the red state districts (but Democrats have a lot of these).
There’s two stupid wars, the Constitution has been ripped up, the economy is in the toilet with no visible chance of recovery, the Gov’t is buying pork like pigs won’t be around next year, the news media is completely worthless, there’s debts that the grandkids will have to work two crummy jobs to pay, congress has been bought off by fascists, the current crop of kids can’t think for shit, and there are plenty of chances to sleepwalk into more stupidity. Yeah, they can grow Monsanto pears, but they’re poison.
# 31 Hmeyers said, “I give Obama a lot of credit for getting a health care bill passed.”
I can’t agree with you. As a physician (and somewhat of an idealist) I would actually like to see universal healthcare. But not a bill that is so convoluted it will take years to implement and iron out. Face it, this bill was so bad that it almost didn’t pass UNIlaterally let alone with bipartisan support.
2700 pages. I’d be willing to bet not a single legislator actually read the whole thing. I’d also suspect you could do a Jay Leno man on the street interview and embarrass any member of congress by asking them about what the bill includes. And if that’s not enough, it was passed on faith that that the 2000 pages of amendments and modifications would follow.
It is my opinion you do not solve problems by hiring 16000 new IRS enforcement agents. I am one of those “idiots” who feel the problems could have been solved without such extreme fiscal effects. Expand Medicaid, regulate the insurance industry, tort reform so doctors can stop practicing defensive medicine and a strong emphasis on preventive medicine.
But that’s just me. All I have is a lifetime of medical experience, 25 of those as a physician.
You know its funny to hear the dems gloat, they really have no idea how big they have screwed up. Like someone said earlier the pendulum will swing the other way, and I hope those on the other side remember this. If the dems can take over 18% of the econ through tricks, then the Republicans should press through their agenda using the same tricks. If its good for the dems, its good for the repugs right my liberal friends?
The dems, have about a year, then they will lose their majority. Those on the right, and independents are pissed. They see the dems as a bunch of inside dealing, tricksters who have to change the rules to get what they want.
And as much as I may not like it, people who are mad go to the voting box allot more than people who are content (just look what happen to the Republicans a few years ago).
In short the right is fired up, they see it as the only way to stop this train wreck, those on the left are content that something was passed, but its not exactly what they want, and they don’t like the way the dems went about it with all the special favors and kick backs.
So yeah, gloat my liberal friends. You have opened a Pandora’s box with the way you did this, and now the other side has new tools to use when they want to ram legislation through. The pendulum will swing the other way, even you can’t deny that, and when it does I want you to remember everything you said this day about being an obstructionist.
When Obama has to bribe the members of his own party to vote in favor of his Health Care Bill, when they have a super-majority in both houses, thats not opening a can of whoopass on the opposition party, that’s the last an act of desperate man.
Marc, If you spent more time actually watching whats going on in Washington DC, and less time making crapola up, you wouldn’t keep making a fool of yourself with these bogus posts…
This post is a shining example of the whores of the two party system. Divide and conquer. Bad cop, good cop. Wolves in sheep’s clothing and Sheep in Wolves clothing. It’s honestly cute how you genuinely believe that this is nothing more than a power grab that the dems beat the repubs to the punch with. Anyone that cheers at the prospect of government growing larger and getting even more control has obviously never read a history book in their lives.
OK they passed a Stimulus that was full of Pork projects and was ineffective. They took over a year to pass a watered down version of Health care reform. Even though they could have easily passed it except for all their in fighting. So if that’s what you call on a roll then so be it.
I’m confused.
What does health care legislation have to do with growing a pear?

John,
Kindly reprimand Marc regarding this blog spam post and keep all editorials but your own off of your blog.
Thanks.

Clearly you meant George Orwell Ha ha…
James Carville is a topic for No Agenda seeing that he’s from URanus.

Democrats are whores to the corporations as much as the Republications.
Whores never show courage to their pimps or johns.
