I wonder how many are doing over other issues. Still a small number, most likely.

Amid mounting frustration over taxation and banking problems, small but growing numbers of overseas Americans are taking the weighty step of renouncing their citizenship.

“What we have seen is a substantial change in mentality among the overseas community in the past two years,” said Jackie Bugnion, director of American Citizens Abroad, an advocacy group based in Geneva. “Before, no one would dare mention to other Americans that they were even thinking of renouncing their U.S. nationality. Now, it is an openly discussed issue.”

The Federal Register, the government publication that records such decisions, shows that 502 expatriates gave up their U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status in the last quarter of 2009. That is a tiny portion of the 5.2 million Americans estimated by the State Department to be living abroad.
[...]
Anecdotally, frustrations over tax and banking questions, not political considerations, appear to be the main drivers of the surge. Expat advocates say that as it becomes more difficult for Americans to live and work abroad, it will become harder for American companies to compete.

American expats have long complained that the United States is the only industrialized country to tax citizens on income earned abroad, even when they are taxed in their country of residence, though they are allowed to exclude their first $91,400 in foreign-earned income.
[...]
Stringent new banking regulations — aimed both at curbing tax evasion and, under the Patriot Act, preventing money from flowing to terrorist groups — have inadvertently made it harder for some expats to keep bank accounts in the United States and in some cases abroad.

Where did you find the info on USA jobs?
Federal/state/SS from your wages is 33%.
this does not count County and City taxes.
So that $30,000 is down to $20,000
NOW for a few hidden taxes..
FOOD is about 10% which is part of interstate transport and taxes for all the handlers to Packaging..
FUEL tax is around $0.70 per gallon.
    ALCOHOL is 50%
Tobacco tax is $2 per pack.
Your landlord pays AT LEAST 10% of yearly as TAXES.
ALL your utilities have taxes they pay, that are PAID BY YOU, about 20% of what you pay. THEN all the tax paid by the Utility corps for employees is YOURS TO PAY..

America is really starting to suck. I like the idea of socialism, but it will NEVER work in America the way it does in, say Sweden. In Sweden nearly everyone contributes so everyone gets out just about what the put in more or less. But in the U.S. we have an entire class of people, namely n!ggers and the new thug-generation, who not only don’t contribute but even go out of their way to do everything possible to get in the way and suck the tit of the system dry just to get something for “Free”. And even if

FUTURE THUGS OF AMERICA suddenly had an attitude adjustment, they still wouldn’t contribute the way Sweden, Japan, Germany, etc’s citizens CAN contribute because (FACT ALERT) Europeans (and their descendents in America) average 80 cc more cranial capacity than negroes, so it will always be the whites in this country who will give “according to their ability”, while the blacks, who are 13% of the population, will always just “receive according to their needs.” Only intelligent citizens create anything of value and make their country’s GDP grow – and sorry, zulu shields and animal hides don’t have much utilitarian value in the 21st century.

(It’s also a fact that asians have an even higher cranial capacity than whites, probably the reason their economies have grown more in the last 30 years than America has in over 200; it’s just evolution.)

Now sure, in 20 years probably 80% of all “engineers/scientists” in this country will be black, just like there are many today. (Blacks can be “scientists” too, just give them a degree that says they are and it must be so!) but I’m just guessing that the rate of bridges collapsing, commuter trains colliding, and cranes toppling over will have dramatically increased by that time as well – probably more than just coincidence, but I digress.

America is now in the era of the shit-rain and is beginning it’s final descent. Return your chairs to their upright position.

P.S. if you don’t like what I have to say then you are a racist.

‘Socialism’ along with the ‘n’ word.. two offensive words. Despite what media tries to construct, I’m a conservative and find the ‘n’ word more a reflection of the user. So, stop.

Anyway, okay so you like socialism. Personally, I don’t. My family left it behind. There is a permanent underclass in many EU countries- especially France and Germany with chronic >8% unemployment. We get worried when we see that here. The founder of IKEA lives in Switzerland due to extreme taxation in Sweden, (>50% of earnings for most people) which also has a sizable unwed mother/teen pregnancy issue, thanks to rewarding behavior with subsidization like here. Not everyone contributes. The US also made huge sacrifices and continues to foot a large part of the bill for protecting Europe, which seems to free up quite a lot for political experimentation.

‘If you make it too easy to be poor, you’re going to end up with a lot of poor people’

  5. bellavida369 says:

We seem to be drifting toward socialism as the EU steps away from stagnation, though in particular Greece, with roughly 50% of workers employed in government, has been pulling down the others at the moment. This cannot be sustained, but neither can 6 week vacations and retirement at 55 without eventual collapse at this level or increasing debt to pay for it.
Anyway if anyone thinks that the entitlement, working or ruling class are equal under such a system, go right ahead and believe this- but here just don’t use the law to force others to buy into it too.
