The alleged incident happened just after TAKS testing two weeks ago. Isaiah Johnson said it all started as he and other classmates watched and laughed as a mentally challenged girl danced. That’s when he says the teacher attacked the 13-year-old. Isaiah said he was beaten by the teacher, with other teachers looking on, right there in the classroom.
“The teachers piled up and they were looking over each others shoulders just watching,” Isaiah said.
David Jones, the principal of the school, released a statement later in the day. “There is no excuse for a teacher to behave in this way with a child,” Jones said. “Although we had already removed the teacher from the classroom and put her on administrative duty, we now plan to terminate the teacher and make an apology to the student and his mother.”
Jones said the school will be investigating whether other teachers saw the incident and did not report it.
Wow, I haven’t seen anything like that since my Catholic School days. The other kids seemed to be having fun with it, however. The teacher will be looking for other employment, I might suggest the UFC.

That is not true. My mother teaches at a private school and she has to have a teaching certificated from the state with the same requirements as public school teachers.
The teacher deserved to get fired. No excuse for doing what she did. She didn’t spank the kid; she beat him. There is a big difference.

#23: You are just plain wrong. She has no certificate and is not required to have one for teaching what she was hired to teach in charter schools. And now she has apologized. But she can still get a job as a charter school teacher in Houston, even if she is convicted of criminal acts. Joy.
The nuns that beat me preferred table legs. One of them had one she called the”Board Of Education”. Beatings were usually formal affairs requiring us to bend over or extend our hands knuckle-side up. But when their chemical balance was at the right level, they’d put on a show that would make this video seem like play-fighting. My favorite scene involved Vincent Salvino being literally kicked out of the classroom, dragged down the hallway by his hair, and then tossed down a flight of stairs. This was third grade. Things got more severe until seventh grade when some of us started to hit them back and they toned it down a bit. Ah, the Sixties. Peace , love, and corporal punishment.

I agree with bdgbill # 29 , 13 year old boys would find it funny to see a dancing retard. Or anyone trying to dance and doesn’t do it well. The teacher should of controled the situation and stop what was destracting the kids. I mean they were even laughing at the boy getting beat up by the girl teacher,but I didn’t see her get medieval for them lauphing at her retarded ass.(excuse my language) Also charter schools are not just for bad kids, alot of the kids have learning disabilities and other disabilities to. There are plenty of real teachers and people looking for jobs, obviously this woman is not cut out for this kind of job. At first I thought she was the girl dancing.
